Orienteering race (Sprint) 29:03 [3] 2.13 mi (13:38 / mi)
slept:7.0 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2014)

I started off with a "bang" by making a 180-degree error from Start to #1. Sigh... A few other bobbles and dumb route choices. Not impressive.

A hot walk around the office park.

Neighborhood walk. OMG it's HOT.

Cycling 25:00 [3] 4.5 mi (5:33 / mi)

...and some unplanned cycling. Had to bike back to the mall with a spare key after locking both my keys AND my phone inside. This was after an hour spent standing in the sun outside the mall waiting for a cab that never arrived (I eventually took the bus, which was great, but it only comes by once per hour on Sundays). NOT the way I wanted to waste three hours when I had a to-do list a mile long...

Orienteering race (Red course) 2:22:18 [3] 6.04 mi (23:34 / mi) +981ft 20:25 / mi
slept:8.0 weight:127.4lbs shoes: Brooks Adrenaline (2014)

This was both physically and technically challenging, on a HOT day. Good prep for Idaho, I guess. The leg from 8 to 9 took me 32 minutes -- 23% of my total time on the course. Oof.

I laid down in the cold stream that crossed the trail near #12, and that felt SO GOOD. It was so hot that my clothes had totally dried by the time I finished.

Very fun overall, and I think I was the first female finisher (which is rare verging on unheard-of, when Kris and Gøril are both there!).
