Helped Heidi with registration set up and learned how to do it so I can do it again later. Chatted a bunch with people, which is always nice. Ate a lot of snacks. Wet & muddy, but not too bad in the woods, at least it was warm. First 2 controls, I tried really hard to not get my feet wet, but I quickly gave up on that and by the end, I was wading knee deep into streams. I decided to run this even with my cranky hamstring, and I felt it the whole time, but it seems OK today (Monday morning) - still sore but no worse from my efforts. I feel like I'm falling apart here a little but, what the heck, just keep going I suppose. What else is there to do? Though I did get spun around at the end (what is it with mini-golf courses? I can never tell where I am...), there were moments in the woods where I could really see things - I'd look at the terrain and look at the map and things were not confusing and not undulating in odd ways. Ravines and curves and slopes were as they were suppose to be. I don't want to use the compass, I don't want to pace count, I want to see it and run through it.
