River loop with Jamie. Twas freezing this morn, 3ÂșC inside my house, bit warmer in brisbane but still cold. Finally know where the river loop goes and found out how little power I actually have on hills. Tweaked the same muscle in my left leg that I did during the Ipswich 100. Pretty sure its due to the mountain bike shoes/ cleat position, need to upgrade to road shoes.

Intervals at UQ with macca, anna and kirra. 6X 1km (2min recovery) in the cold. Times were 3.21, 3.23, 3.28, 3.30, 3.34, 3.31. Times faster then last time i did this session but still cant keep them consistent. Massive lactic build up in the arms tonight.

King of the Mountain at Mt Coottha. Started off in a pack of 10+ runners for the first km (3.45min) which was reasonably flat. Then the steep section started and they all dropped off. Was in 2nd to the top of the climb (220m, ~2km) then got passed on the ridge by 2 others. My descending speed was pretty crap and was losing a lot of time there, finished up 5th overall out of 40 something people bout 2mins down. Won me a spot prize :)
