Orienteering (Midweek Champs) 54:30 [4] 4.6 km (11:51 / km) +300m 8:56 / km
shoes: Jalas Jukola FLX

Mid week mission at Mt Coot-tha. Twas a mission, mainly cause of the mountain with controls on it. Ran the first hill then ended up walking the rest. Really need a healthy set of lungs if i want to tackle this sort of run. Won comfortably with about 8mins to Gaz Sutherland.

Street O at yeronga. Chest was burning most of the way. Started out well but started to fade a bit after 3km. Lost lots more time at end trying to figure out which ones to get.

Still got this bloody chesty cough and a blocked nose. Injected half a plate of vegies this arvo which will hopefully help

Hack at Daisy hill with ryder and mat. Used the old mans norco again. Managed to lose a cleat bolt which made life tough on the technical sections. Cornering was improving by the end of the day again which is good. Hopefully get my bike fixed soon.

Run with mat and julia. Did slaughter falls, lookout, chapel hill, bielby rd, gap ck, quail trail, highwood rd trail, simpsons falls then back round the ring rd. Alot stronger up the hills this week.

Was going to do the long course but didnt realise i had a short course in my hand. Destroyed the field by 5mins. Pitty the average age was probably between 60-70

Midweek at bunyaville. Ran with no compass again, lost time on 1 ( bad mapping), 7 ( no control) and 9 (parallel/compass needed error)

Hack round bunyaville with ryder, and mat. Used the old mans norco as mine is still out of action. Two stacks, 1. Tree vs handlebars, 2. Classy uphill stack.

Usual smackdown round the parks. Was trying to push it but had absolutely no zip today. Only started to get kicking in the last 500m of hill. Thermometer out the back read 37ºC when i got back, it felt like that in the last km. Now there is a killer thunderstorm coming

So bloody hot today. First 20mins had alright pace but then slowed considerably after that. Summer in QLD is shit for training. Need to change to the morning shift

Long run with mat from thors house. Did slaughter falls, summit, chapel hill, gap ck, quail trail, highwood rd trail, summit again, frostys, anzac park home. Smashed it from the bottom of quail trail to the lookout.

Spent ages trying to fix my rear disc brakes at mat ryders house with no luck. Borrowed his switchback and went for a hack round the burbs. Wrecked from this mornings run though.

Hills run in the rain. Slower on downhill cause it was slippery. Left adductor is playing up again.

Street o got cancelled bout 5mins after i arrived due to a lot of lightning. Think there was more chance of my map disintegrating in the rain than me getting fried by a bolt though. Could always log the 1.40hr i spent driving

Long run with the scooby gang from bridgets house, was only me and mat basically. Ran from bridgeys place up to south boundary rd, down to the boscombe rd track, boscombe rd, gap creek, quail trail, three sisters (now three mingers), summit lookout, down chapel hill track, bielby rd, gap ck and back to bridgets someway from there. Got destroyed by mat up each hill, didnt use to be that way.

Midweek cruise at Parkinson reserve. Ran without a compass because i forgot to bring it. Stuffed up 3, 9 and getting back to the finish cause they were legs where i needed a compass badly. Still coughing but i think its starting to clear up.

Started the hills session i had planned for yesterday but after 10mins started going into coughing fits after each hill so bailed. I think this chest thing is starting to clear up slowly. Twas a nippy 32ºC.

End of my rest week. Killer calf strengthening sess on friday ended up in me struggling to walk yesterday. Still similar this morning but not as bad but was still struggling to run cause of how tight the calves were. Still got chest infection thing though so coughing up a fair bit of crap during run.
