Awesome run tonight. Started off hard like usual but was able to keep the pace up tonight. Started to die a bit at the 5km mark but finished fairly strong. Won the coveted yellow singlet again.

Had to bail on clives cause i had to take molly to work instead. Then the interval session i had planned for this arvo didnt happen cause olly's taxi service was in full swing by then. Managed to fit in a smackdown round limestone and queens park before it got too dark. Legs were tight but starting to feel a lot stronger running again. 10 secs behind my post injury pb .

Pretty weak effort on the bayside smackdown. First 4 1/2 hrs was made up of walking and eating gelati but still enough to get the legs sore. Then decided we needed a smackdown so ran the last 1 1/2. Good enough training though.

Dad wanted to try out his new norco charger so burnt it down to castlehill to test it out as it was late. Didnt take long for his first major stack on a 180 berm which needs some maintenance. He got a massive lump on his arm now. I also managed to eat shit trying to show off by bunny hopping off a drop. Went over the handle bars but didnt injure meself. Will have to check out all the other tracks another day.

Street O number 2. Had no idea which way i was gonna go at the start of this one so just took off to a control. Got dropped by julian taylor early on cause hes a running machine but he stuffed up later. After i got out of the hills i got a 2nd wind or sumthing but faded a bit in the last km. Slow time cause of route choice but running felt stronger. Hammies tight as during the run.

Rocked up to Gap ck early for a ride before training. Started off with rogers then the tracks i did on the weekend. Was stacking on the big logs for some reason. I think cause my right contact wasnt sitting right. Did a time trial down lantana. Almost wrapped myself round a tree in the flat section cause i didnt get the corner right, but was owning the berms at the start. Took about 6.50min.

Clives Training. Did some exercise where we did a course but the control circle was 4 times as big in areas with lots of features. Had to figure out what feature he put it on and then remember the control number. Couldnt find number for but found the rest.

Orienteering race (Club Relays) 38:00 [3] 6.7 km (5:40 / km) +120m 5:12 / km

Club relays, Ugly Gully annihilated it. Format was usual teams of three but with two maps each with 3 courses on them, park o, street o, and bush. Got one whole map to myself. Was stuffed from yesterday but did alright. team was about 7th but only two other club teams were in front.

Mountain biking with the lads at Gap Ck. Legs still screwed from the other day so uphills werent pleasent. Skills are improving cause i was riding a shit load faster and taking the berms well. Almost came unstuck on a few cause track was loose in places. Did two handicap races down lantana. Had to start last both times. Went to hit up Bronwyns but they were doing trail care. Absolutely shagged now.

First Street O for the year. Wasnt expecting anything spectacular. Started off with a first control smackdown with kieran, molly and jaime, molly one. Then the tactics began.. Kept changing the lead with kieran then he managed to get a decent break at one control. Caught him again but he put the power down up the hill and i was dieing after that. Lost sight of him and was running solo for the rest of the course. Magically beat him back as he got 19 out of 20 controls when u only need 18. I think you need to learn how to count kezza. Won the coveted yellow Lorna jane singlet.

Couldnt be farked starting my climatology assignment so hit up the backyard gym for a beef up session.

Run to test out the ankle and to loosen up for tomorrows 7.5km-sit in kierans slip stream then outsprint him--smackdown. ankle held up alright on the road, still a bit sore off road. will strap it tomorrow.

(injured) (rest day)

Had a pretty interesting night yesterday. Just before i went to bed I heard someone walking down the driveway and then jump the fence. The dog went apeshit shortly after this so i decided to investigate. Luke had also gone to have a look too so i grabbed a torch and we went down to the back fence where the dog was. Next thing laddi goes charging back up the driveway and i heard someone crashing about. So i went back up to the carport and nearly shat myself. Standing between the car and the ute was an aboriginal about my age. There was also one next door hiding as well. Wasnt too sure what was gonna happen but the aboriginal guy was shitting himself because the dog had him bailed up. I think he was high on sumthing and he told us he was running from the cops. So me and luke kicked him out of our yard and told him the dog would bite his leg off next time. Then the cops came past and we told them which way they went. Usual ipswich stuff really.

Got told on thursday by neil that i was entered in a team with him and dane for the relays and was 3rd leg runner. Thanks for asking neil. Neil managed to get back in before the 3rd leg mass start. Course was pretty simple but had enormous legs in it. Rolled ankle going to 5. Stuffed up 6 lost bout 4mins there. Ignored the pain in my ankle and kept going strong. Over took another team right at the end. Was hardest i run in a while.

Orienteering race (Oceania Long) 1:12:10 [5] *** 9.1 km (7:56 / km) +340m 6:41 / km
spiked:16/18c shoes: Puma Esito III

Oceania Long. Started off really well and was spiking everything. Wasnt feeling as strong though and was struggling up the steep hill to 5. Slight error on 6 but only minor and overshot 7 a bit as well. Took it easy to 8 but was starting to die here. Held it together too 14 and had a gel but it did jack shit. Was really dieing on the long fast leg up to 16 but somehow managed to finish alright. happy enough with the place i guess.

Not too happy with this race. Had a shitload of problems reading the map and where i was going cause of all the cross overs and stuff. Lost so much time screwing round mainly. But i guess most people had this problem. Felt pretty strong run wise though. Shit placing though.

Hit up Mt Stromlo with the old man and bro. Didnt find any tracks that were too technical cause we didnt have a map of the area but was still a decent workout. Lots of climbing. Hit up canberra afterwards and rode round the lake. Got a bad cycling top tan.

Orienteering race (Oceania Middle) 37:49 [4] 4.1 km (9:13 / km)
shoes: Puma Esito III

Started off with minor error on the first one. Then was solid enough till i got too 6 and did not see the control. Was running round for 2mins+ till rob caught me. Ran with rob for a bit and dropped him when he got stuck in a creek. Got caught up again when i stuffed around on another. Last section was a bit cleaner.
