Felt crap and heart rate was up. Under 80mins would have been respectable, nav was straight forward except the 12th. Got waist deep in water on the way to the first control. Tis wet.

Went to the park to do some 400s but splitting headache started again after the first one. Waited for the pain to ease then just went for an easy jog instead. Might need to see a doc.

Went for a run at lake manchester with Luke. The tracks are trashed from the rain and its a mudbath out there. Turned round after 10mins when we hit a flooded creek. Dont think I'll be going riding there this weekend.

Training at Race elements. Still getting bad headaches from the remnants of this cold. Decided to bail on ints tonight because of it. Last exam tomorrow morning then dont really have an excuse for not training over the next month.

Up at the park, 5X ~40secs hill sprints with jog recovery to get everything working again. Got massive headaches with this cold since tuesday which aint cool, unsure whether i'll be doing king of the range on sunday now.

River loop with Jamie. Twas freezing this morn, 3ÂșC inside my house, bit warmer in brisbane but still cold. Finally know where the river loop goes and found out how little power I actually have on hills. Tweaked the same muscle in my left leg that I did during the Ipswich 100. Pretty sure its due to the mountain bike shoes/ cleat position, need to upgrade to road shoes.

Intervals at UQ with macca, anna and kirra. 6X 1km (2min recovery) in the cold. Times were 3.21, 3.23, 3.28, 3.30, 3.34, 3.31. Times faster then last time i did this session but still cant keep them consistent. Massive lactic build up in the arms tonight.

Run race (King of the Mountain Race) 39:59 [5] 9.4 km (4:15 / km) +245m 3:46 / km
ahr:181 max:186 shoes: Brooks Adrenaline GTS 9

King of the Mountain at Mt Coottha. Started off in a pack of 10+ runners for the first km (3.45min) which was reasonably flat. Then the steep section started and they all dropped off. Was in 2nd to the top of the climb (220m, ~2km) then got passed on the ridge by 2 others. My descending speed was pretty crap and was losing a lot of time there, finished up 5th overall out of 40 something people bout 2mins down. Won me a spot prize :)

New map near rosewood. Not bad area, sub 5min/k terrain. Wasnt feeling overly snappy so struggled to break 5min k's. 2-3mins down on lorenzo.

Had to bail on intervals cause was stuck at uni doing a group assignment. Knee is stuffing up again so probably better i rest it.
