OY at crappy hardings paddock. Really getting over qld's shit terrain. Couldnt find my o shoes this morning got a feeling there in tassie so had to run in my ds trainers which was crap. Got to number 17 where i kicked my shin/ankle on a log hidden in the grass and couldnt walk. Can walk on it now but its still throbbing badly.

Anzac Park Hills with anna and helen. Would have helped had i known were i was going, ran up a wrong track and had to stop a few times to figure out which way I was going. Got really dark at the end so couldnt see too well. Can easily take 3mins off this.

Long Distance Race at Livelys Bog. Feeling better running today. Started off well but navigation was a bit scrappy. Only real stuff up was on number 7 where i was too far to the left. Heard Grant B catching me there but he must have had a bad first section as there was only a 2min starting gap. He eventually caught me just after 10 then ran with him for the rest. Faded badly after 19 and hammies were cramping a bit. Happy enough with result.

NOL Race at Uni of Tasmania in Launceston. Was hoping to replicate my sprint result from easter but was never got into the running side of things. Had fagg following me on the first loop which was a bit irritating at times, then proceeded to die on the 2nd loop.

Orienteering race (Easter Day 3) 59:30 [3] 7.7 km (7:44 / km)

Easter Day 3. Major brain meltdown at the start, spent 10mins on number 1 which was a 3min leg. Ended up at number 2, had climbed high out of the start without realising and missed all the major features I was gonna use. Knew I was wrong and almost gambled on a relocation off some rocky west of the control, (which I was right about) but kept going. Ran with Grant for a few controls but past couple of days were catching up with me. Rest of the course was clean as usual.

Long distance Day at Easter. Was feeling better this morning than last night with this cold. Started off a bit scrappy on the way to the 1st then missed 1min on 2, then everything fell into place after that. Got through major part of the course before the spectator pretty cleanly, and was running reasonably well for my current state of fitness. Started to struggle a bit on the last 3km loop in the hills even though I'd had a gel. Finished top 15 I think with a massive bunch within 5mins of me. Happy with result.

Note

Thought my route choice to number 2 looked crap when i drew it before. Splits up now, lost at least 2min on route choice on that leg. 93mins would have got me in top 10.

Thanks to Macca I have a cold now which aint cool. Day 1 of Easter at Bendulum. Hit the first 3 cleanly, caught jimbo at 2 and kerrin at 3, then me and kez both buggared 4 up cause we were too low. Matt Parton caught us there then ran with him to 5 and 6. Split up on the long leg but got to the control at the same time and Kez caught back up again. Then the pace got to quick for me after that and got dropped. Got through the rest of it cleanly just dropped another 2mins through running speed. Bit disappointed with end result, could have easily avoided the error on 4(~4min lost).

Easter Prologue at Trevallyn. Started in the last heat of the day. Stuck with Troy de Haas till the pivot control cause he was messing up a bit. Rest of the race was mostly clean except for a few scrappy errors. Was running well the whole way though which is a good sign. Was hoping to crack 17mins but easily lost 30secs total in minor errors. Control flow was superb as well. good courses.

At Race Elements. Easier session this week. Can now kneel on top of a swiss ball and catch a medicine ball.

Calf/hammie still sore when i lift it. Felt fine at training, and not too bad now. Hopefully it will have settled down by friday.

Inside of my left calf is sore as after yesterday. Get pain in it if I lift my knee with my leg bent above my waistline. Sometimes feels like the pain goes up to my hamstring. Hope it isnt anything serious. Can still walk fine and jog alright.

Wasnt raining today so decided to do the Ipswich100 bike ride. Was slow to get going cause of the amount of people/slow riders. Took 33mins to go 11km out of ipswich. Started to string out after rosewood, jumped on the back of the team japan peleton and stuck with them for about 30km till Warrill View. Some arsehole truckie almost cleaned a couple of the riders up though. Refueled at Warril View (53km: 1hr50min) then jumped on the back of another group. Started to fade with about 20km to go so was a bit of a slog home. Not feeling too bad now, left calf has a tweak in it, probably from using mtb shoes.

Cruisey run round the XC course then did 5X 200m on around 80secs with jog recovery. Times were 36,37,34,34,33. Got a ride planned for tomorrow but if its raining might do some training at kholo.
