Putting out tapes for cyclones training at Toohey forest. Left calf pulled up sore after friday so bailed on long run. Feeling better today but need to back off the training a bit.

10X 200m 1.30min jog recovery on the uni ring road. Ran off the garmin but doubt its accuracy in the rain given my times being slow (~37secs). Definitely running faster than that, need to shorten recovery next time.

Anzac Park Hills with Lilian. 24.35. Bit quicker than last week but this time there were about three construction barriers across one section which I messed about getting through, mainly to make sure no construction workers were in there. Stronger through the hills on the last section so getting some fitness back. First hills run for Lilian, unfortunately the map I gave her disintegrated within the first km so she had a bit of trouble running the correct course.

Intervals at Anzac Park with the gang. 8X ~520m reps on the ring road on a ~5min cycle. First 400m slightly uphill then solid climb over last 100m. Legs felt unco at the start but came good by the 4th rep and finished off well. Times: 1:47, 1:59, 1:57, 1:55, 1:57, 1:52, 1:55, 1:53

Long run with Rachel and occasionally Macca when we weren't going uphill. Rach was pushing the hills so was in the hurt box from the start. Finally cracked at 12km going up Honeyeater trail. Feeling pretty tired by the end but have pulled up ok now. Longest run since 2010.

Note

On a side note - I think Rachel is probably faster than the cyclones men's team at the moment....

Touch footy, finally won a game. Still crook with a cold, calf is sore but should be fine in a few days.

Saw the physio, hip is straight, even with all the running in the last week. Finish off some more running technique sessions with him this week, and should be able to get back to some normal training. About time, hips only been like this since september 2010.

Calf sore from yesterday and got sick the night before, was running slow at the start then all the tree trimmings made the decision to pull the pin early.

Sprint the Bay 5. Started well, lost 1min on the long leg through routechoice, then couldn't see 8 when i got there, lost 4mins trying to relocate even though i was 5metres away from it, race over by then.

Sprint the Bay 6. Pretty tired but hit the pace a lot harder at the start then normal. Few minor route choice problems but navigation reasonably solid and splits were more competitive, even won a few. Faded pretty bad on the last loop but the weekend has given me something to work on.

Night o at Peggs Lookout. First 5 were good, then had trouble with the 6th. Read it as ck junction, wasnt there, looked at descriptions said top of gully, ran up there couldnt see it, looped a bit before someone said it was behind me, it was above the gully stuck in some foliage. Proceeded to exit in the wrong direction and did another pointless loop. Apparently lost 4mins according to the garmin. Rest went well just bit scrappy finishing off the last two. Looking forward to the weekend now.
