cycling 1:15:15 [4] 25.65 mi (2:56 / mi)

Work commute. Went in this afternoon to get a little work done. Didn't do much. Nearly dark when I got home.

trail run 34:33 [3] 7.84 km (4:24 / km)

Morning run at the Loch. Saw a fox.

trail run 32:46 [3] 7.1 km (4:37 / km)

Roland Park. Terrible run. Had a large curry for lunch today. After 7 hours of digestion I figured I was ok for a run, but that was a mistake. Very painful. had to stop and lie down for 10 mins at the halfway point. That meal was waaaay to big...not worth the pain.

cycling 1:14:30 [4] 25.65 mi (2:54 / mi)

Work commute. Sweet sweet tailwind and cool weather inbound this morning! Finally got some lube on the drivetrain and front deraileur lever, which quieted everything down and made life easier.

Note

The foam shedding on the shuttle ET is pretty bad news. My guess is min 6 month delay, maybe 1 yr until the next flight...if there is a next one. The chances of another Hubble servicing just got alot slimmer. There are some really sweet images of the ET after separation taken with a handheld camera by the 'nauts.

Also, I thought this was pretty funny :)

cycling 1:13:00 [4] 25.65 mi (2:51 / mi)

Work commute. Cranked pretty well today. Was almost killed once by an SUV passing and then turning across me.

orienteering 1:00:00 [1] 7.5 km (8:00 / km)

Spent a few hours walking around Oregon Ridge Park with the new Lidar images and several versions of the 5m 1:10000 contour map made from it. Really neat stuff out there. I took a bunch of photos of features. Some rootstocks are visitble in the lidar data, as are nearly ALL the trails, indistinct trails, ditches, pits, knolls. Its really quite good. Just need to decide on the best strategy for smoothing the contours, as I think the 5x5m boxcar is a little too harsh, but unsmoothed is too ratty. Will try smoothing the contours after extraction rather than smoothing the data then extracting. I think I gathered enough info today to help with adding the "sharp" features from the gradient image.
