I was a bit messy early and was uncertain on 1. I then go into the map until 4, where I did not see the rock and ran right next to the control, before hitting the next rock and coming back.
Toph caught me at 5 and we were together for most of the race. He got away from me when Matt Crane passed us at 12. I pushed hard and got back with Toph at 14. Toph missed 17 and I recovered first. Simon passed me on the way to 19 and tripped right in front of me. I saw him fall flat on his face, and then I proceeded to almost do exactly the same thing on an invisible log. Once again Toph got away on the way to 20. I almost dropped off, but I caught up again at 24 and held on to the end of the race.

It was hard work. I was cramping a bit in the last 15 minutes when I had to jump a fence or leap logs. Luckily most of this was in open land. My long distance speed in forest was not quite fast enough, but mentally I was pleased to be able to push as hard as I could for a respectable result.

Note

Unfortuantely Torren had a mispunch in M10 for not punching the last control. It is interesting that photographic evidence suggests otherwise. I suppose it proves nothing - his stick may still not have registered? He was a bit upset though.
