Event: BATONA 500

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1] 1.0 mi (15:00 / mi)
shoes: Falcon O-shoe with studs

Before race warmup

Orienteering race (Batona-500) 59:55 [4] *** 6.0 mi (9:59 / mi)
22c shoes: Falcon O-shoe with studs

Physically I performed good. I was able to run away from people and there were many legs I posted top-10 times. However there were too many mistakes taking me out of contention. However I am 20th out of 36. Overall that is improvement but personally I m not happy about that many mistakes.

Running warm up/down 3:00 [1] 0.2 mi (15:00 / mi)
shoes: Falcon O-shoe with studs

Warmup before Sprint-A at Batona-500.

Orienteering race (Sprint-A at Batona) 7:32 [5] *** 1.0 mi (7:32 / mi)
spiked:8/10c shoes: Falcon O-shoe with studs

Well done course. I liked this course better then the Sprint-B (even I did better at Sprint-B). It 70% of open field running however you could not see flags from the distance (except one).

Burped big time on #7. Originally I thought it was about 1 minute mistake but then seeing some of the splits I realized it was more like 2+ minute mistake.

I was tentative going to #9.

Running 3:00 [1] 0.2 mi (15:00 / mi)
shoes: Falcon O-shoe with studs

Warmup before Sprint-B

Orienteering race (Sprint-B at Batona-500) 9:55 [5] *** 1.3 mi (7:38 / mi)
spiked:10/12c shoes: Falcon O-shoe with studs

The best O-performance I have had in last 10+ years both physically and mentally. I was consistently faster the Will H. and John F. for most of the legs but few. I made probably about 30 second burp on #6 and that cost me race (or at least beating Will and John - when I left only Will and John were ahead of me; I will re-post this after I see official race results).

11/12/2006 Update: I ended up in 4th place. There was this dude Oliver Johnson who blew everyone...
