Cyclone race series at the Mt Coot-tha botanic gardens. I wasn't expecting too much, just hoping for a clean run and a time near the top and so wasn't unhappy to finish 33 seconds behind Kieran. Started off pretty well with reasonable flow but I think I missed the optimal routes on 3 (I went right -10s) and 6 (right -10s) and I had a moments' hesitation on 8 and 13 but picked the best route on long 14 (back through the clearing and across the long bridge) and was pretty clean thereafter apart from a hesitation on 19. I think I was running at a good pace for my current fitness but could possibly have pushed it up a notch in the last 1/3. A good run by Rachel who pipped me by a second. Covered about 3.5km on the ground.

Commute in to work, trying to take it easy for some recovery. Legs feel really fatigued. The ride home will hurt I think.

Commute home. Had anticipated a struggle but while I certainly felt the fatigue I felt sorta good at the same time and pushed pretty hard up the hills. Did the ride in a time on par with my best efforts.

O-tervals around UQ St Lucia with a good group of Cyclones including Macca and Kezza so it was pretty competitive. I expected to fall behind these guys with lack of training lately plus fatigue from intervals yesterday but I actually felt really good and managed to keep on Kezza's tail most of the time.

1, 2, 3, 2, 1 minutes with equal jogged floats back and forth on an undulating concrete path between the golf course and the ICBP - lovely area ... Distance is a guess. The wind was blustering so occasionally had a great tail wind and occasionally had a nasty head wind. I felt a little tired but more comfortable running fast than I have for a while. I think I am going to be sore!
