Aussie Day long run in some light rain with Mat and Mikko. Had previously decided not to run this morning but Mat and Mikko were keen so figured I could always do one today and one with the remainder of the usual crew on Sun or Mon. Followed a nice route that skirts the slopes of Coot-tha from the back of Indooroopilly round to Gap Ck, then up Highwood Rd Tr, Summit, Frosties and finally home.

Highlight of the run was steep pinch at the 3km mark that caused a corresponding pinch in my right calf — just a tightening and not a big twang thankfully. Decided to give it away a km and bit later but Mikko convinced me to continue. It was never comfortable yet not painful either. On the plus side, I felt much better physically than last week.

I have to take my hat of to Mat, who decided that this loop was going to be too short and headed down Toilet Block from Channel 9 and eventually arrived back 30min after me.

The usual morning run up Coot-tha and back. The first 10min was a real struggle, my legs just felt incredibly bad, but I eventually warmed up. Didn't feel super strong on the uphills but managed to get there.

I checked more control sites at KG and then had planned to run home. I quickly realised that a running singlet and my new backpack don't mix and had to bail on the run home at Roma St before my shoulders started bleeding.

Long run from Clare with Wendy, Anna and Mat. Felt okay at the beginning but then my guts started to feel bad and when Mat and I reached the end of the South Boundary out-and-back extension to the standard loop and I was feeling pretty wiped out. Started to lag behind, mainly on the downhills and flat, and struggled to make it back to Gap Ck. I had a big drink of water there and couldn't really get going again so walked and jogged back to Clare's. The drink and swim at Clare's was awesome, though for once I wished to water was colder!

Run around the burbs and some of the local tracks. Did a flat warmup and some dynamic stretching then did a couple of threshold surges of about 1.5km. I didn't feel too bad after the warm-up.

Shortish long run with Mat starting from Slaughter Falls, up Simpsons Falls to Ch 9, down Jacksonia, across Chapel Hill and up to the lookout, then down Slaughter Falls. It was really humid and I never felt good, had to have a sit down after the 2nd ascent.

Early morning run with Mat from Anzac Park before the full strength of the day's heat arrived. Felt weak on the early hills but improved later in the run.
