Pulled the pin on the relay today. Feeling a bit better this morning but have a persistent mucky cough and asthma is pretty bad. I figured running hard wasn't going to work well.

Feeling a bit better than yesterday so went for a little jog and it turned out it was about as much as I could comfortably do as I was feeling pretty tired by the end.

A reasonable week of training. Didn't get my long run in or hit the volume I wanted but better to focus on being healthy by next weekend. Probably can fit in an hour and a taper session early next week if this cold goes quickly.

Jogged over to the climate rally and back to work. Legs tired; will have a proper rest from running tomorrow. Was my first rally in a long time. Couldn't help thinking they're a good opportunity to get together and make puns for a cause.

Jogged over to the Reid Session but it had a small turn-out and nobody else jogging so just looped back via C'wealth Park. Floriade very quiet. Did a couple of strides at the end.

Dash around the Blue Lightning long course providing someone for the faster boys to chase. Had a brain fart leaving #1 and looped back to check it was the right one but otherwise fine.

4 x 1km on a 5:30 cycle. Averaged 3:45s so the recovery was 1:45 jog. Nice to have a big turn-out of orienteers: Marty, Tomas and GB. The head-wind from 500-800m was a bit nasty but paid it back with a tail-wind in the last 200m. I didn't feel all that great but seemed like I was moving okay. Similar paces to my session the previous Tuesday but Strava tells me I was 10s/km faster when I did the same session here nearly 12 months ago :(

Pipeline Flat loop with dad and my sister on bikes for company. Lovely morning. After about 20min I thought it was going to be a struggle to get through 90min but I never fell in the hole I was expecting. Was even okay to do an extra hill climb at the end to get up to 90. Bit of nervy achilles pain on and off.

Tomas set a short course around Little Black Mt and we ran it together as intervals. A bit tricky with some of the small boulders and termite mounds that have disappeared. Good session though, nailed almost everything except messed up the 2nd last one in the last interval.

Short gym session before a work lunch. Quads feeling tired today. Calf raise machine was taken when I needed it so instead tried to MacGyver it with a dumbell on my knee but it didn't really work.

Low-row 3 x 8 @ 33kg
Seated calf raise 2 x 8 @ 30kg.

2 x (6 x 1min, 45s), 45s. Had been reading some stuff about designing interval sessions and decided I wanted to target aerobic system only so went for 1min. Found a comfortable hard pace 3:35-3:50. Didn't kill myself either, could have have done a couple more - I hear that's the way to do it. Hopefully can fit in a few more between now and Oceania.

Longer easy run. Had been thinking about a session but felt I still wasn't properly over the weekend's exertions and also had a nervy niggle in the achilles earlier so played it safe. Run was fine, can feel my fitness improving, but was starting to feel weary in the last 5-10min

ACT Long champs at Slap Up Ck. Decided to screw things up early today and dropped nearly 3min at #2. Oh well, reminded myself it was a long race (well, sort of a long race) and pushed on. Had a pretty good run from that point, a couple of very small time losses and a couple of places where I was running without a great plan and a bit wobbly. Spent a lot of energy finding clean lines through the deadfall and my hip flexors coped with it much better than usual, no soreness at all.
