http://orienteering.ca/doma/show_map.php?user=jane...1. Didn't have much focus so ran right into the control with no plan. Next time make sure to follow the orienteering
2. Again was running faster than I could navigate because I hadn't yet gotten into the map. Next time make sure to be actively following plans when starting a race
3. Straight
4. Started to settle into things again. Did a good job checking off rivers
5. Good work in the first half of the control. Checked off the swamp and then must have lost my bearings in the green because was drastically off course. Corrected at the final train. Next time actively use strong points features to reorient and refocus off of
6. Conscious of my previous struggle in the bearings. The one was still a bit off but I actively recovered. Weird bit of forest...
7. Another off bearing but recovered. Good job using the hilltop and having head up
8. Checked off swamps but got a bit too pulled in towards the point feature. Next time be conscious of planned route and desired proximity to features along the way
9. Good job having head up.
10. Found quick routes out of the green. Could have perhaps held a straighter line. Good job executing the middle portion of the leg. Next time be visualizing the highpoints for oriented navigation
11. Very green up until the path. Did a great job nagivating through the nasties. Next time actively use trail running time for planning (after the green I allowed myself to relax instead of plannign for me exit to 11)
12. Good first poirtion of the leg navigating fast portions of the green. Good job cutting the train at the right point and taking a straight line. Next time be conscious of catching features (I didn't think about the final reentrant and bobbled around for a bit)
13. Good job checking off elevations and using point features from max visibility
14. Good job picking a fast route and entering the control. Next time take a more active compass bearing for a stronger entry into the woods from the trail
15. Good job staying in the clear of fallen trees for a fast route. Next time accept the loss in energy from ups and downs with confidence (hesitancy lost more time than a slow uphill did)
16. Next time make sure to push a straight line instead of getting pushed around by vegetation
17. Good use of handrails to flow into the control. Good job having eyes up and attacking from above
18. Good job holding a strong first portion of the control (it was very green) and good job checking off proximity when entering the train. Next time be confident in my entry into the green
19. Good job flowing through better pieces of the forest to run in. Next time accept the climb and instead just follow the orienteering at max speed
20 - Finish
