Snowy family sunset hike to a fire tower built in 1929, one of the last still standing in the area, S on my back. We rented another cabin in western PA for the weekend. The start of my Day 7 miles.
7 PM

Road Run 41:49 intensity: (1:05 @1) + (5:27 @2) + (29:31 @3) + (5:46 @4) 4.0 mi (10:27 / mi) +324ft 9:43 / mi

Went back out and quickly decided I wasn't comfortable on the isolated roads with no streetlights and blind curves. It didn't help that I had no trax or spikes and a headlamp worthy of reading in bed at night. We did a great job planning this trip...

So, I stuck to the icy dirt drive in front of our cabin and the short straightaway on the main road that was lit by the Pickle Barrel in on one end and the Hominy Ridge Lodge on the other.

Shoveling sleet-packed snow with a toddler on my back. Let’s call this functional strength. It took precedence over Lattanzi's burpees today.
