Bike - Roads 1:50:02 [3] 22.82 mi (12.4 mph) +797ft
shoes: Niner Air9 RDO

I knew I wouldn't get this ride in with both kids at home, so I made the last minute decision to call in reinforcements -- namely, one of our XC girls who has babysat a few times in the past. Why have I never done this before??

FD to GRT - a mix of gravel, mud, and pavement. My dad told me yesterday that Wissahickon has seen 700,000 more visitors this year than last. I think they were all in the park today. A couple near collisions with runners/dogs/kids, including one that forced me off-trail and almost over a ledge to avoid the runner darting into the center of the path, and hard to find any momentum in stretches, but overall a nice ride. $25 well spent.

Scheduled FTP test. Solo parenting both kids for the first time while broots is at WT - thought I might be able to sneak this in, but S freaked out right as the second eight-min block started. So, pulled the plug a bit early.

Back to Amherst to close out our trip. 8x2min hill repeats - hike up/run down. Spooked a rattlesnake during my warmup, then watched a thunderstorm roll in during the main set.

Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail up to the summit of Mt Washington with my friend Dan. Broots drove to the top with the loose plan of hiking down to the Lakes in the Clouds hut (where Dan used to work) with both kids. They only made it 1/2 mile. We met them there, and I traded my light pack for S and his heavy pack for the final stretch, so he could give Z a shoulder ride back up to the top.

Now I know why DML is so strong.
