Bike - Roads 50:06 [3] 13.16 mi (15.8 mph) +581ft
shoes: Salsa 29er

Unexpectedly kid-less ride, part 1. We'd planned to bike to the Phillies game with Z to meet my family, but she decided she'd rather drive down with her grandparents, so it was just me and B. I was on my mountain bike, after a failed attempt to change the tube in my surly (replacement tube was similarly old and valve threads weren't grabbing the pump), with a heavy pack. Average speed was close to 19mph until City Hall, and then we slowed considerably, between traffic and lights. Hard effort for me to keep up to B on his surly, without his co-pilot.

Bike - Roads 22:34 [2] 4.68 mi (12.4 mph) +74ft
shoes: Salsa 29er

Stop-and-go traffic from the stadium to dinner with my family, with Z sleeping on the back of B's bike.

Bike - Roads 50:23 [3] 11.16 mi (13.3 mph) +858ft
shoes: Salsa 29er

Unexpectedly kid-less ride, part 2. Z opted to drive home with my parents. Stop-and-go through the city, then lots of weaving along a crowded Kelly Drive. Strong headwind until we got to the Wiss connector.

Miles and miles on the Vegas strip, Z on my shoulders the entire time. We covered 8-10 miles. Time is an estimate.

Trekking (Sherpa) 3:00:00 [2]
shoes: Salomon XA Pro - Purple

Out and back in the Zion Narrows. Started with a mile on a paved trail and then the path stopped and we climbed down into the Virgin River. The rest of the hike was in the water, ranging from shin- to waist-deep. Had Z on my shoulders for both paved miles. She transferred to the pack with B in the water, and I had 20-25 pounds on my back. Time does not include our hour-long stop for snacks and throwing rocks in the river.
