RUN intervals 40:00 intensity: (30:00 @3) + (10:00 @5) 7.52 km (5:19 / km) +31m 5:13 / km
shoes: Lunar Racer

Decided that I had to teach one of the young bucks all about hard training, so told James to come to Wildflower Drive at 12:30, were we would do some Mona's.

I used my Lunar Racer's, as I wanted every advantage I could find, and we set of. James tried to get away from me on the 1st 90 sec float, told him to hold up, and go on the fast bit. He got away from me easy in the 1st few minutes, just like anyone who is inexperienced in what they are up to.

I held the distance from 6 through to 10 mins, when we turned, now to see if I could hold him off. It was a no contest, I failed to get back, but mainly cos I walked the 2nd last 15 secs fast, but James failed by a long way.

I think he is re accessing what hard training is all about, don't think he will ask me to do them with him again :)

RUN long 1:55:24 [3] 21.31 km (5:25 / km) +368m 4:59 / km
shoes: Pegasus 27

YM run, plus Ev, as the plan was to run to Herbert. I drove to the start, as I didn't want to run for more than 2 hrs. Kept on thinking about taking shortcuts, but none in the group would be comfortable if we went a different way, that was until Paul caught up with us, so we headed towards the Mt.

Then Ev and I set of for the climb, surprisingly short once you get to the channel, then the final climb was as steep as ever. Run home, I employed the shortcuts to the max, and got home right on 2 hrs. Ev continued onto his place, to get 2:20+

Not a bad run at all

ORIENTEERING ◪ 1:00:13 [4] 7.49 km (8:03 / km) +154m 7:18 / km
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite 285-2

Ev, Rooey and I went to Kooyoora, seeing the t there wasn't any event on this weekend. Dont know if it was a smart move, there are way more spiders up there than around here, you get wet feet in the low area's, and there are grass seeds, and it isn't spring, or is it?

Set a 3 loop course, we all ran one loop and put out some flags, then did a loop, where we could just run, then the last loop, picked up the controls. Was good, apart from the before mentioned

Haven't done this one in a while, so up to Spring Gully res to do the shorter 'clara' sessions. Had to work for it, a bit rusty I think, failed by 20m to get back in time. 1895m out, 1875m back, 2067m during speed, 1703m in float.

Will step it up to the real thing next week

ORIENTEERING ◪ race (Eureka Challenge) 51:06 [5] 7.0 km (7:18 / km)
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite 285-2

Got of to a good start, saw Liggo at the 2nd, but played about at 4, then Liggo again at 6, but mucked this up a bit. Finally got up behind him at 12, had no idea were I was on the way to 13, slowed down to sort it out, and lost 2 mins+, did the long leg well, and got in front of him. Then it was a drag to the finish.

Happy with how I ran, was strong in the terrain, even if I didn't know were I was some of the time, should have been able to do a time similiar to Max's

Rode with the group that starts from McDonalds. Out through Diamond Hill, down Sheltons, along Railway to Big Hill School, through Crusoe Park around the back of the Res, then over to Lockwood Rd, before ending up at Furness St.

Then down the linear path, which ends with a sprint to 'La Porchetta's' That could have been mayhem. It was on at Don St, we were stopped by the Fountain lights, dont know how safe this is.

Rode out to Eaglehawk to watch Ev do a triathlon, but he had forgotten his shoes, and missed the start when he went home to get them. So we rode around the course, giving cheek to his work mates. We then went to do some extra out the Neilbourgh Rd, but there was a accident when one of the competitors and a car hit each other.
