WALK 40:00 [1]
shoes: Nike Terrain

Last day at Falls, so thought should take it easy, as I have done a bit of running these last few days.

Up the ski run to the top of the lift over looking Rocky Res, was a great view, then easily along the top, and back down.

Been a good week, once I settled in, the running got more enjoyable, would be so nice to do another week

RUN 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Terrain

With Toph from Langfords, along East aqueduct to the bend below Fitzys hut (not to the source) , signed in then back along the snow poles to Marn Trk, and around the roads back to Langfords.

Was Toph's 1st longer run in a while, wonder if he can keep it up

ROAD BIKE 40:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Up from Falls along the Omeo Rd with Jules, LD Muzza, Robbie and Toph, as far as it got steeper, then turned back home. Met Troy on the way back, he and a few others continued down pass the village, while I had a well earned rest.

Great place for cycling, might take it a bit easier next time

Tuesday Dec 29, 2009 #

RUN 50:00 [3]

From Langfords out to the scout hut for the 1k rep session, then home again. Felt good on the run home, may have got the pace right

Didn't do any myself, was good to see so many PPL doing it, some where around 100 athletes

RUN 40:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Terrain

Very nice evening (5.15) run with Clara out to the Wishing Well, then up to Frying Pan spur, onto the hill over looking Falls, then down the single track pass the Water tank

Monday Dec 28, 2009 #

RUN long 1:20:00 [3]
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite

The team run was to Spion Koije, but once again, I struggled to get started, and once I was going, it didn't feel a good idea to go to far, so went as far as the 1st hill on the spur

Sunday Dec 27, 2009 #

RUN (Monas@Langfords Gap) 40:00 intensity: (10:00 @2) + (20:00 @3) + (10:00 @5)
shoes: Nike Terrain

Once again I struggled to get started, so was left out the back, but felt much better on the return leg.

So easy to get sunburn )-;

ROAD BIKE 20:00 [3]

Short ride in the early evening, rolled on down to Howmans Gap, were I met up with Troy who had gone down to Bogong Village. Troy gapped me from the start, and I closed ground on him for the rest of the trip, but couldn't get up with him

Saturday Dec 26, 2009 #

ROAD BIKE 1:40:00 [3] 45.0 km (2:13 / km)

Mt Alexander loop with Toph and Dave, wasn't going that well early on, but was saved by a puncture, told the boys to keep going, while I did the repair, then headed up the Mt from the Nth side, as the boys crossed over from the Sth.

Good timing meant I met up with them just before the final steep climb, (-:
From there it was homeward bound, tried to take Toph on on a couple of climbs, but he had me covered for all except the last to Storys Rd

RUN 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Terrain

Up to Falls Creek, so then the afternoon exercise was a run out to Ropers with Leon, Bryan, Birchy and Troy

Was so far of the back, it wasn't funny, told the Guys to do there own thing, as I struggled on up to the top, then managed to run most of the way home

Thursday Dec 24, 2009 #

RUN 1:00:00 [3]

Lat run for the year with the Sunday morning group, a special, one up run from Pauls place out at Sedgwick.

The big decision that had to be made pry to this run/day, 6.30 AM or PM? It could be hot, so better have it early. Dont think anyone thought it would be 30 at that time in the morning. Over the road and into the Sedgwick forest, then through to Emu Crk Rd and home. Dont know if it was a good idea to run this early, time will tell

Wednesday Dec 23, 2009 #

ROAD BIKE 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Haven't done much this week, so it may as well be a easy one. Tanneries and back through all the new suburbs of Junorton, the urban sprawl is like a out of control rash, were will it stop

Tuesday Dec 22, 2009 #

COMMUTE (MTB) 5:00 [3] 2.0 km (2:30 / km)

To the track and back

RUN 10:00 [3]

3k Champs, and it was my Clubs duty to organise the night, turned out I was the only one from the my Club helping.

Keeping laps and time wasn't a problem, trouble was, I forgot to get the finishing order of runners, bugger. Took a while to work it out, still think I got it wrong, but who knows.

After that, couldn't be fagged doing much, so did 2 x 1200's at not much pace

Sunday Dec 20, 2009 #

RUN long 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Terrain

Another cool morning, so was I going to go T-shirt or singlet, the former won out.

Good turn out (14) for our last run before Christmas. Pace was also a little quicker, was that because of the 'extra' people.

Same loop as normal, felt good through out the run, although a bit tired towards the end

MTB 20:00 [2]
shoes: Nike Zoom

Easy roll of the legs up the ridge to DH, and home the same way

Saturday Dec 19, 2009 #

ROAD BIKE 2:02:00 [3] 58.0 km (2:06 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

From Tophs, we headed towards Alexander, then over to Harcourt and approached the Sth saddle from the West, didn't go 'over' the Mt today, continued on to Sutton Grange, then came home via Emu Creek to get the time up to 2 hours. Toph was going great guns today, all I could do to keep him in sight early on, I got better towards the end.

No James today, sent him a text yesterday (1730) to let him know the plan, he replied at 1000 this morning, saying he had just read the message, that was very convenient for him (:

Note

Not getting any night shifts this year, lack of water, money, etc meant that there isn't much maize being sown.

The rig I drive, when there is work, got a write-up in the Weekly Times

Another picture (2nd frame in the slide show)

Wednesday Dec 16, 2009 #

ROAD BIKE 1:25:00 [3] 32.0 km (2:39 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Didn't do Alexander today, Clara was in town, so we went out around the Juvey before it got to hot. Pace was very comfortable, but for some reason, my legs are more stuffed than usual

Tuesday Dec 15, 2009 #

RUN warm up/down 20:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Terrain

Ran to the track, then did a couple of laps, then did 5 more laps after with Johnny and Jo-Anne, who was warming up for her intervals

RUN race 12:00 [5] 3.0 km (4:00 / km)
shoes: Nike racing flats

First hit out for the season, got through 2k in about 7.30, wasn't that comfortable, could feel the cough coming on, so walk 200, then did the last 800 faster so that I could get it in under 12.

Most positive thing about the night is that my achillies felt good, and that was running in flats.

Note

Solar cells produced there 1000th KW power today

Sunday Dec 13, 2009 #

RUN long 1:25:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Terrain

Another Sunday morning run, wanted to do a little extra, so ran from home, should've run home, but had a nice walk back down the Creek after

Saturday Dec 12, 2009 #

ROAD BIKE long 2:05:00 [3] 54.0 km (2:19 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Mt Alexander with Toph and James. Did the easier Southern route. James did what so many young, impatient guys do, taking me on, on some of the early climbs.

He cracked on the final climb, so we had to go back and find him, but he crashed 'big time' on the run up the Nth Harcourt Rd, turned around, and went back, to find James sitting under a plum tree, stuffing his face. Said he needed sugar, sounds fine, but I tasted the plums, and they weren't ripe!

COMMUTE 5:00 [2] 2.0 km (2:30 / km)

To the track and home

Friday Dec 11, 2009 #

RUN 20:00 [3] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Terrain

Evening run, over to the track, then on up towards the Uni, along the Channel reserve and back pass Keith's

Wednesday Dec 9, 2009 #

ROAD BIKE 2:30:00 [3] 73.0 km (2:03 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

Decided that I didn't want to do 2 Mt Alexander's this week, so did the lap of the base instead. Out to Sutton Grange, and over the Sth saddle to Faraday, then home via Harcourt and the Nth Harcourt Rd.

Legs feel a little tired, but just that nice/sort of right, tiredness (-:

Nice bit of highway that doesn't get used now the freeway goes pass, will have to get down that way again

Tuesday Dec 8, 2009 #

COMMUTE (MTB) 5:00 [2] 2.0 km (2:30 / km)
shoes: Nike Terrain

To the track and home after

RUN warm up/down 30:00 [3] 6.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Terrain

With the Mo up to Foleys and back before the run, then with Johnny after

RUN intervals 8:00 intensity: (3:00 @2) + (5:00 @4)

Was meant to be 300 on, with 100 run recovery x 4 = 1600, by two

Wasn't really up to it tonight, only did x 3, then only x 2 in the 2nd attempt.

Spent the rest of the night doing the lap board, Can you get a more boring event than a 5k walk

Monday Dec 7, 2009 #

Note

Am I officially known as a Large runner )-;

Was reading the information for http://www.twobays.coolrunning.com.au/

RUN long 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite

Morning run with the boys, normal loop. I was going to run there, but a last minute panic trying to find shoes, meant I had to drive, even then I nearly missed the start. Virginia and Meg were there as well, good to see more girls

Saturday Dec 5, 2009 #

COMMUTE (MTB) 5:00 [3]

To the track and home after

MTB 25:00 [3]

A easy ride up the ridge to DH, then down to the creek and home

Friday Dec 4, 2009 #

ORIENTEERING ◪ race 1:30:00 [4]
shoes: INOV-8 Roclite

Course looked very do-able in 2 hrs, or less, so Dave and I waited a hour, so as to get some night navigation, also sent Clara out on the same route as us, with the aim of running her down. Just as we were to start, Craig turned up, so there was 3 of us for the 1st few controls.

Was nearly 20 (out of 30) controls into it, before the lights came on. Trouble was, that my 'recently fully charged' battery, gave up after 5 controls. Told Dave to keep chasing. Got another 2 in the dark, but left the last 3, and headed to the finish.

Clara had beaten us well and truly, will only give her 40 mins head start next time

Thursday Dec 3, 2009 #

COMMUTE (MTB) 30:00 [3]

I had heard that Keely was doing a 800 @ Tom Flood tonight, so headed down for a Gander, but no Keely. Backmarkers race was worth watching, 5 PPL with a chance with 50m to go, mid marker got up

Wednesday Dec 2, 2009 #

Legs not feeling the best, Yesterday and the weekend doesn't help.

Went out late for a shortened Goose Neck, more tired now than on Sunday

RUN intervals 20:00 intensity: (14:00 @2) + (6:00 @5) 4.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Terrain

5 x 400, twas a good session, felt lots better than last week, and sharper than I thought I would be after the weekend.

Ran 4 with the Moook, then dropped out while he did another one, then rejoined him for the last. Good to see Mo getting into a bit of speed work
