MTB 40:00 [3] 12.0 km (3:20 / km)

Thought it was about time that I tried out my shoulder, went for a easy ride pass Diamond Hill and out to Kangaroo Gully Rd, felt really tired early on, but as the time went by, I got better. Came back pass the Decline/Mine, they now have razor wire around it on the inside, are they trying to stop someone.

RUN race (Blodslitet) 5:00 [3]

Started well, got into the map and then.........

I slipped over, there was this stick/stump sitting up out of the ground about 500mm, that I fell on. It penetrated the skin under the armpit.

I lay there for a min thinking something was not right, there was some blood and a lot of pain, so I had to get back to the assembly area, about a k, once I got back there, I sat down, and promptly fainted.

This put the wind up the organisers, when I came to, they had a car organised, and 3 chaperones, we went to Daylesford Hospital, cant remember much, except it seem to take ages. Once there, the concern was wether it had gone through the chest cavity into the lung, and wether I was bleeding internally. All the test seemed to indercate that all was OK, but as a precation, I was taken by ambulance to Ballarat Hospital for Xray, no internal damage, so that was good. But then, they still had to operate, to remove any foreign matter, got out of the theatre about 8pm, and given the all clear, looks like it penetrated 60-70 mm, but no major damage, no running exercise for the rest of the week.

Oh Well, I was lucky, it could have been a whole lot worse

Warmed up by running sections of the course giving Leon encouragment during his race

ATHLETICS race 1:04:44 [4] 16.0 km (4:03 / km)

16k Cross Country race at Geelong, didn't really want to do this race as I am doing the Blodslitet tomorrow, but they wanted a 5th runner for the team, so how could I say no. 4k laps, 1st lap in 15.45, so far so good, then 16.00, things arent to bad, was not really racing it, everyone else in my team was in front of me, so I knew I was going to come in last for the team, 3rd lap in 16.30, that didnt sound so good, total time was up to 48.15, so I badly wanted to go under 65, so held it together and ran the last hill hard, another 16.30 lap, I was happy with that, but as I was so exhausted, I did not warm down, Oh Well, I will pay for it tommorrow

As I didn't quite do a long run on Sunday, today was going to be longer than a normal Wednesday run.

Left home at 3 pm ran down the creek, past Weerona and out to Epsom, then the back rd to the saleyards, and onto the Nursery, where I picked up the work truck for deliveries tomorrow and drove home.

Felt like I was not going to make it early on, but at the end i was feeling stronger, glad I got the most inportant run for the week out of the way

Tuesdays is Interval day, and as I am on a GFQ (Get Fit Quick) program, I thought I should do some, Checked out with the Keely boys what was the go, so met them at Lake Weerona at 7 PM, yes in the dark, and it was cold as well,

Was meant to be a 1/2 Mona session (2 x 90secs, 2 x 60, 2 x 30, 2 x 15), but as i had dropped of the back going into the 1st float, and as I did not have a watch, I could not tell when to go to the float, so it ended up more like a 10 min time trail for me, at these I got out there and gave it a go, with 2 thermals on

Early morning run with the YM boys, as both Paul and John were coming of recent injuries, we only did 55 mins.

2k easy run pry to the race, felt so so slow, and 3k after with the YM boys, felt better

ATHLETICS race 18:33 [5] 5.0 km (3:43 / km)

After being involved in organising or running O events over the last 4 weekends, today I "needed" a break from O. Cross Country race at Blue Jacket, got going OK, but was soon (1k) passed by Wellard, and being threatened by Birchy, held it together through to 3k, then started to wind it up, with a K to go, I set my eyes on Wellard, and ran him down with 200m to go, happy with the days work.

Now the decision, do I go and do a 16k CC race in Geelong next weekend, followed by the Blodslitet the day after, I know I have to get fit, and racing is certainlly the quickest way to do it. Plus, I have to beat Hanny in the Coaches race at JWOC, so I badly need to do something

Very cold today, did it get over 10, didnt feel like it did. Did the goose neck, top cog all the way, Dropped into the track on way home to see who was training there, 3 PPL in total, was cold there as well

Got the 1st OK, but then proceded to screw up the next 7 controls, settled down after crossing the road, and finished of in much better control

Mt Kooyoora, long course, started very well, was still leading at 7, but mistake at 8 put a end to that, ended up in 2nd place behind Bruce, got all the young Bendigo guys, so that was the main thing

Got home from work at a reasonable hour, so decided that it was time to get fit again, got out the roady, put on 3 tops and went, Bloody cole, need to put on more gear, I know it is winter, much prefer to train in summer, did the Juve clockwise, will have to check with Clara if this is the right way, or the reverse way

ORIENTEERING ◪ race (Bendigo Club Event) 37:39 [4]

Finally got out for a run, Toph took 78 secs out of me by 2/3 rds the way around, but I could only get 45 secs back on him in the end. So he won by 33.
went out OK, but then I remembered why I had not run at all last week, my calf was still very sore and stiff, so had to make sure i didnt over do it, good run from Toph
