Got a good start, was with Bryan half way through 2nd loop, as we came together at the common, then one after another, I dropped back through the field. Just didn't have the strength to go with them. Did I go out to fast? Don't believe so

Was put up to the 1st team, not because I was one of the 4 fastest, but because I'm registered. Good to see something came of all those track fee's I have paid this year.

Started out, not really knowing the speed I should go, when Brady sat on me as we went around the 1st bend, I knew that the pace was about right. With 800 to go, I still thought I may have gone out to fast, but I had the strength to finish it of

ORIENTEERING ◪ race (Foul & Fizz) 1:00:29 intensity: (8 @1) + (7 @2) + (4:50 @3) + (52:50 @4) + (2:34 @5) *** 10.03 km (6:02 / km)

The annual Foul & Fizz, 7 AM!!!! start, well it may have been a little later.

Johnny, Toph, Dave, Ev and James, who didn't sleep in this time, no sign of the Keely Boys

The start was delayed a little, so we were all talking in a group, as what was the best way, so once we went, it was go. Ev and Toph were of, with James and Dave trying to hang on. Ev went awol on the 3rd, but he seemed to recover, and wouldn't be that far behind. Leaving 37, Toph & Dave went high to 38, that let John and me in, as we did 36, then 38. Saw Dave on the cross over, then again as we left 59, but no sign of Toph, never saw him near 36, he has to be out in front? and were was Ev, he should've caught up by now.

Dave dropped 47, and caught up to John and I at 33, then we all sacrificed control 32, was just not worth the 10 points, and we were already near the 30 min mark. Dave and John were a bit high on 42, which left me on my own, but for how long.

I missed 43 a little, and we were all back together, including Toph, were had he been. Toph was full of running, and Dave seemed to be able to keep up, but I was struggling. Then it was the run to home, as we were fast running out of time. At 51, I turned for home, and Toph decided to go get the rest, Dave got away from me, but I had a extra control under my belt, so had him under control.

Toph finally came in, he had got 32, and missed 36, so went of to get it, turns out Toph, Johnny and I were on equal points as we left 51, so Toph should have won.

ROAD BIKE (Mt Alexander Challenge) 1:50:00 [3] 50.0 km (2:12 / km)
shoes: Nike Bike shoes #1

The ride to sort the Boys out from the Men, Mt Alexander.

The Keely Boys weren't going to turn up, because by definition of there name, they are only boys, and the girls weren't welcome, cos we didn't want them to beat us.

1st casualty of the morning came from James, and it was as original as they come, "I slept in" but then, he is really only a boy

So after some mucking around, Dave waiting at the wrong place, and Ev leaving home with his fathers bike riding gear, we finally got on the road at 8.50 for a 8.30 ride.

1st person to crack was quite a surprise, Ev, who we all thought was 'The Man" dropped of the group as we came pass Harcourt Nth Rd, it was the 1st little climb. "I thought you guys were going up that road" he reckons, once he caught up (or did we slow down for him) I think Ev learnt that we do have attacks on every hill, so stuck on the wheel from then on.

Out through Sutton Grange, and then the hill was upon us, with K markers all the way to the top. 1st climb was the Cul de Sth, hit the climb, and Toph dropped his chain, I wasn't stopping, and it was a easy win to me.

Then we started the Mountain proper, and the climb to the Koala Park, is what makes or breaks you. Dave took of, Toph thought about the wheel, but thought not, so I took up the challenge. Getting up to Dave wasn't the problem, it was trying to get a gap on him. Numbers of time I thought I had done it, but there he was, a 1/2 bike of the back. Finally, I felt his presence no longer, and crested the hill in the lead.

Once again, I eased up for Ev and Toph, but Dave thought I had blown the gasket, so kept cruising. Once the 3 of us were back together, Toph took of after Dave, and I after him, but he was out of sight. I finally got Toph with a k to go, but in normal Toph fashion, he cruised back pass in the last 400m. Then I had a stroke of luck, a car came up behind, so I yelled out to Toph 'Car back" and once it went by me, I jumped on the back, and cruised on pass Toph to the line. But Dave had beaten us all.

We all regrouped for the decent down to the Nth Harcourt Res, and then the final climb to the Turd Burger. I was rolling along on the back with Ev, when Dave went, with Toph on his wheel, I excused myself to Ev, told him I wanted to cover, so set of. Dave finally cracked, Toph took the lead, then I put the foot down, thinking this is to far early, but what the heck. Was surprised to not to see Toph anywhere as I went over.

Then it was the cruise down the Sedgwick Valley to home, with only one challenge left, 'Line Honours' With the speed going on nicely, I tried to ride of the front with 2k to go, looking back for a shadow, but none to be seen. With 400 to go, and a little rise, I stood up for the final push to the line, when Toph came flying by, this time he didn't let me get back. It turned out he had sat on my wheel the whole way, will have to have a better look next time.

So the leaders board after today is,

General Classification, Toph
King of the Mountain, Dave
Points Jersey, Jim
Best Newcomer, Ev (it was his 1st ride up the Mt this season)
