Running 21:00 [3]

Got my running gear half on at about 9.30 last night, then decided against it. Lap of the lake this morning - legs weren't feeling very fresh.

Note

I can wear shoes again without my blister hurting :) Time to get training again!

Running 23:00 [3]

Thought I'd better see if the legs were still there. They were. Found somewhere new to run: went upstream and found a part where I could get across the creek easily (grass slashed/creek low) so scooted around the back of the drive-in. WC 2015 Tassie training session 1.

Note

Legs still didn't feel like doing anything. Went on a kayak tour in Taupo and drove PAST an orienteering event :) Skipped the night relays and did battle with the seemingly 84 hens and bucks nights happening in the Irish pub in Taupo.

Orienteering 24:31 [3] 2.4 km (10:13 / km)

STB Race 5. The Slip. Just what the legs needed after the last 2 days/3 weeks! Kind of enjoyed it though. Lost most other people pretty early and just did my own thing for most of the race. Took on the final hill with Mary in my sights. Got her and some polka dot singlet points. Amazing spot for spectating.

Orienteering 20:33 [3] 2.6 km (7:54 / km)

STB Race 6. The Village. Still fairly complex for a city sprint. As good as STB was, I was kind of glad when it was all over!

Orienteering 23:37 [3] 2.7 km (8:45 / km)

STB Race 3. Kaiwaka. Navigated pretty cleanly through the gorse. It was well mapped and kind of like maze-o. Had planned to go out to the riverbed earlier on the long 12, but wasn't reading my map and got stuck in the yellow corridor so followed it out. Nailed the final section unlike everyone else around me at the time. Blisters pretty sore.

Orienteering 18:03 [3] 2.7 km (6:41 / km)

STB Race 4. Napier Central. Went fine, but the legs weren't feeling it.

Orienteering 22:44 [3] 2.5 km (9:06 / km)

STB Race 1. Woodford. Picked up some green singlet points in the finish. Went ok, generally tried to keep out of the buildings. Didn't spot the fence trick at the tennis courts so lost a bit of time. Interested to see how many people picked the gap.

Orienteering 19:39 [3] 2.4 km (8:11 / km)

STB Race 2. Splash Planet. Not too bad. Got confused on 8 and was pretty cautious at mini golf. Got very confused coming out of the control in the pool trying to work out if I was meant to go up the water slides. Opted against it and went around.
