Running race (Surf to Surf) 45:43 [4] 9.99 km (4:35 / km) +55m 4:27 / km
ahr:152 max:152 shoes: Brooks Glycerin

well race day and I am pretty happy with how I ran. I didnt get under the 45 min goal but considering I ran 20km yesterday and I had my high school reunion last night and didnt get home until 3 am, I have done pretty well. Perhaps my early morning beef and egg kebab is the perfect carb loading for such a race......
I don't think I will take that on in future though.
Legs a bit heavy. Achillies a little inflamed before the race, NSAIDs immediately before. Foot started hurting a little at about the 8km mark, but what do you expect really.

Running long (Trailblazers) 2:12:59 [3] 20.01 km (6:39 / km) +52m 6:34 / km
ahr:139 max:168 shoes: Brooks Ghost

trailblazers run along the Collie river plus a bit more. Quite an easy and flat track with a bit of sand along the way.
Took some NSAIDs because my right achilles felt a little inflamed. Didnt have any trouble during the run. Felt pretty good throughout, even at the end. A little tight in the lower back. Although I feel a better in my running technique, a photo taken during the run still shows that I need to work no my alignment during stance on the right. Slow and easy but happy to get the distance done.
11 AM

swimming (SWSC) 1:00:00 [3] 2.0 km (30:00 / km)

swim smooth session with Paul Newsome. This session was really helpful for giving me tips on my stroke technique. I really need to start spending more time in the pool. The set up of the session meant that I wasn't really tired after further highlighting I should be spending more time in the pool rather than rushing through a half hour session.
We did a 4000m TT which I did 8.22
and a 200m TT which I did 4.11 (looks like I am more of a long distance swimmer rather than a sprinter!)
So my average is 2.05 per 100m. which is 20.50 for 1km. I need to work on that for the up coming tri season.

tried to keep up with the boys to see what I could do. Happy with the time but still quite a bit over the 45 min time I wanted to beat by the end of the year. I need to work on that I think!!

Running tempo (Hay Park loop) 40:48 [3] 7.44 km (5:29 / km) +5m 5:28 / km
shoes: Brooks Prue Connect

I tried to do my intervals but was interrupted by numerous things making it overall a pretty horrible run. Made worse by the horrible state (non-existence) of my training this week. Grrrr!!!! Tomorrow is a new day....
5 PM

Note

1 hour walk with the dog and a friend through the Maidens. foot good and blisters healed.
