Trainer Ride (Sufferfest Video) 1:50:13 [4] 27.38 mi (4:02 / mi)
ahr:136 max:164 weight:215lbs

Stage 2 of the Tour of Sufferlandria. Robby came over, and we did "Blender" - the second longest video in the Sufferfest series.

I forgot to start my TrainerRoad app, so we did an extra 5 or 6 minutes of warmup spinning while the app caught up to the video.

Using my current FTP from my test a week or two ago, the numbers on TrainerRoad were pretty dead on for the longer, threshold-type intervals, but were too easy for the shorter, VO2 Max intervals. So I just went by RPE and pushed harder than the numbers suggested for those shorter intervals.

I'm not sure what that means. I'm better at sprinting than longer, threshold stuff? Or maybe I need to retest? We'll see how the rest of Tour plays out.

For such a long video, the time seemed to fly by, and the footage was great - CX and Fat Tire biking in the snow especially.

Trainer Ride (Sufferfest Video) 39:00 [3]

Stage 1 of the Tour of Sufferlandria. "Elements of Style" was the first of 2 videos today. It served as a long warm-up as well as a video to work on technique and posture. Lots of sweat.

Garmin wouldn't work, so I don't have the HR data. I used TrainerRoad, though:

Trainer Ride (Sufferfest Video) 36:00 [4]

Second video of Stage 1 of the Tour of Sufferlandria. This one sucked. Very hard for 30 minutes straight. Using TrainerRoad allowed me to make sure I suffered properly. No Garmin again, so no HR info.

Trainer Ride warm up/down (cool down) 5:00 [1]

Easy spin at the end of Stage 1 of the TOS.

Trainer Ride (Sufferfest Video) 53:24 [4] 12.5 mi (4:16 / mi)
ahr:145 max:170 weight:215.5lbs

I did "A Very Dark Place" using TrainerRoad. Using the FTP from my threshold test last week, it felt a bit easier than I was going based on RPE. That means that either I didn't go hard enough on the test, or I was going too hard when I was using the RPE scale only.

I'm not going to lower my FTP since the Tour of Sufferlandria starts Saturday. After I recover from the Tour, I'll retest my FTP.

Trainer Ride (Sufferfest Video) 39:00 [3] 8.88 mi (4:24 / mi)
ahr:127 max:158 weight:220lbs

I did "Elements of Sytle" - it was the perfect video after a long weekend of riding. I felt surprisingly good, but my legs felt a little heavy. This is the easiest video, and it runs you through some pedaling drills and technique. Good to spin the legs out a bit.
