Orienteering race (Short-O) 38:23 [4] 4.17 mi (9:12 / mi)

Not a bad day. I decided to be extremely careful based on what I knew of this park from last time. There were spots when I should have picked it up, but didn't.

Friday Apr 28, 2006 #

Note

Driving to NY (8hrs+), so no running

Thursday Apr 27, 2006 #

Running tempo (2k) 7:06 [4] 2.0 km (3:33 / km)

Speed intervals (4x300) 3:09 [4] 1.2 km (2:37 / km)

Shins sorta hurting, blisters from tuesday, so I couldn't run on my toes

Running warm up/down (Warm up) 14:00 [2] 3.0 km (4:40 / km)

Running warm up/down (Cool down) 12:00 [2] 2.6 km (4:37 / km)

Running long 40:00 [3] 5.71 mi (7:00 / mi)

Slowish run - shins hurting a little from yesterday's workout

Tuesday Apr 25, 2006 #

Speed intervals (2x (2-4-2-2)) 5:00 [5] 2.0 km (2:30 / km)

Coach said to hit 60 second 400 pace on each, so we did.
On the last 200 of the second set, one of the other guys decided to try to race me. We were neck and neck on the final 50 and I decided to amuse him and not pass, so I laughed to myself. Apparently I smiled as we crossed the finish line because coach said that maybe I should run another set if I was smiling...
My feet are extremely blistered now though.

Running warm up/down 15:20 [2] 2.1 mi (7:18 / mi)

Randolph

Running warm up/down 13:00 [2] 2.6 km (5:00 / km)

Note

The trainer put some wierd gel stuff on my toe (which was swollen last night, icing fixed that, though) and then put a bandage on and wrapped it up. It held up fairly well during the run, but bled a little bit (an improvement over the last three times I wore my racers).

Running long 40:00 [4] 6.5 mi (6:09 / mi)

Working with the varsity guys-much faster than normal.
Unsure of the distance, pace looks about right though. We had some brief rests at street crossings.
