Shepherd's lookout - Uriarra crossing loop showing Fat Rat and Prong around. Also did an out and back on a FT that goes south from the Uriarra crossing park - will have to check that out further next time.

Legs weren't too bad and managed to respond to a cheeky surge from Ben along the FT then put another one on him up the hill. Finished off with a waist deep wade in sections across the Murrumbidgee. Cold. Good fun but!

Nice, long Tharwa - Cotter with Fat Rat, Prong and Steve for the start.

Met at Ben's the. He took us on a convulsed route to Prongs - I was a bit worried as I thought an extra distance would hurt me later on. Then headed south, leaving Steve near Isabella and then getting a quick roll at Lanyon shops.

I wasn't feeling too bad but then started to tire once we went through Tharwa and started to drop off the back of the boys on the rises from the Point Hut turn off onwards. Had a slow leak go fully flat near Tidbinbilla then more of ten same to Cotter. I felt pretty good climbing out of Cotter and took a fair chunk off my pb but the lads still put a minute in me.

Nice coffee, muesli and colonic irrigation at Duffy cafe then north to Belco to meet Mich. She was doing more gym so I rode onto hall via home to meet her for lunch.

Great ride, whilst the legs weren't awesome I never felt exhausted

Long loop of the centenary trail with Steve.

I started at home and met him at the Cork Oaks. From here we headed south and stayed reasonably true to the trail, the main difference was we extended and rode to pine island. Had a nice stop at 5 senses In Tuggers for breakkie. My Eggs Benedict was awesome. Also did a little repair one my bike which was a bit rough.

Off through the burbs, wanniassa hils, isaacs ridge and mugga before the run along red hill and through the city. Lunch was a great chicken burger and beer at Edgar's.

We were getting a bit tired after this with Steve starting to slow a bit. I actually started to feel. Stronger through mulligans and kept it up right through to home, peeling of the trail after Hall while Steve kept going it was the way back for him anyway.

Lowlight was a stack descending one tree hill but only a bit skin lost and a reasonable dent in my helmet. Only physical low point was along the river before getting to breakfast.

Good fun ride, would do it again.

GPS Track stops at Edgar's but watch shows distance up till one tree hill where it died. I used my phone after that

Lap of the lake with Prong, making his return to the bike, and Fat Rat. First chilly morning on the bike but not too bad really.

Coffee at Farmer's Daughter was a little cold but the toast was nice, even if Fat Rat's was twice the size of mine.

Bit of training with the guys from the team - new season starts next week. Actually a decent workout.

Managed to lose a player. He and I went for a ball and he came off second best when his foot did something funny. Could be broken....

Orienteering (Easter Day 3 ) 1:02:26 [5]
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 243

I didn't have a lot of confidence going into this race, I expected to hit the wall pretty hard but I was surprised to pull out a decent result.

I caught Muz 2min at 4 after he went straight to 2 and dropped time on 3&4. We were together throughout until the second pivot. It was great have him for the reassurance and to help push me along. We actually came back into the second pivot together and pushed through to the end together with Robbie catching us through the arena.

Thought every second would count for the Stingers so pushed the finish and luckily it got a me a second in front of Keely for 7th.

9th overall isn't great but ok considering how I felt going into the weekend. It may be my best overall result since about 2006 I think.

Obviously I need to get back into some decent, consistent training but I also really need to work on the mental lapses during races that cost me time.
