Long run after last day of school! Massive high, looking forward to 8 weeks PAID holiday. I love teaching...we do nothing except drink coffee and watch movies and have 12 weeks holidays. (How's the power station going Robbie?)
Feeling good on the run, sorta fresh.

Off to Jukola tomorrow.

Running (Trail Running) 1:02:11 [3] 13.77 km (4:31 / km) +183m 4:14 / km

Morning run from home before work. Got up at 6am for this. Sunny mornings here in summer really help and despite lack of sleep it is always nice being out in the forest and no one else seems to run at this time... weird. Nothing exciting this morning, usual loop from Björkhagen around Hellas loop and back along Sickla to Hammarbyhöjden. Nice fresh banana smoothie hit the spot right after.
6 PM

Running (Warm up) 18:33 [3] 4.03 km (4:36 / km) +58m 4:18 / km

Keen for some sprint practise, Stockholm city Cup was nice and close to home so ran there, while Mum and Dad caught the train and Fel ran from work.

Orienteering (Stockholm City Cup 3) 18:17 [3] 4.23 km (4:19 / km) +52m 4:04 / km

Wasn't ready for this. Disappointing. Got caught out and missed a lot on two controls and wasn't in race mode. Work to do.

Running (Warm down) 17:10 [3] 3.7 km (4:38 / km) +48m 4:21 / km

Warm down home, beat Mum and Dad who rode the tunnelbanna. Very uneventful except for feeling better after the run, than before.

Description just for the forum....was pumped for this session. First time I was doing 12x400m since last August due to various things, mainly injuries. Got home from work and didn't want to way myself down with food so had a coffee and watched the Daily Show as usual (tough life being a teacher) also managed a nanna nap on the Tunnelbana on the way home today, a rare occurance actually as it is pretty uncomfortable. Started by jogging off down the hill from home under the tunnelbana station into the forest tracks at Björkhagen. Top of my mid-foot was a little sore as I had my Zoom-Elite too tight and was sore, had to stop and loosen them momentarily. Then my foot was better. Feeling good at the start, often I feel good at the beginning of the warm up, then shit later in the session, but was feeling good overall and was thinking it was going to be a good session. Did the usual eluspår loop then coincidently ran into my work colleague Nic Remires, who actually lived and taught in Canberra. He had some Aussie mate staying, Aaron, who I thought was called Dave. But anyway luckily I managed the conversion till his name was mentioned and we had some good banter about Aussie winter and it being -5 in Canberra and green in Europe. Before I knew it I was heading away from the track and had been steered off my warm up loop. Said goodbye to Nic and Aaron and headed to the track. Right on cue S#@& was calling, managed to find a serine place in the forest with a nice view down a cliff overlooking a orienteering control. Quick scout, all was safe....enjoying the serenity....rustle in the bushes....sounds like an animal...all good.....another rustle.....sounds human like....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....an orienteer..what!!!.....quickly moved to safety. Finally ready for the session. Got to track and met Mum and Dad ( who are over visiting) then Fel arrived. Gave Fel her instructions of 8x400m, usual debate about it, but I won out. Then put my racing flats on, then a few strides and ready to go.

Running (Track Intervals) 24:15 [3] 5.97 km (4:04 / km)

12x400m on 2 min cycle
It is a synthetic track, but it certainly ain't an 'athletics' field. Soccer players control this place. Lucky that nothing was in lane one to start. Checked out my times from this session in August....didn't think I was going to beat them but good to know what was a measuring stick.
1st
65, ohh fuck that was a bit harder than it should have been, still got 11 to go.
2nd
66, hamstrings tightened right up off the line, working had for this, not s good sign.
3rd
66, bloody footballers loitering in lane one again, had to weave around them, think they own the joint....fuck that was a tough one, lactic killing me, maybe I need a break after 6 otherwise I'm gunna blow up, it's all over, shit session on the cards
4th
67, fuck blowing up not good, need a break after 6
5th
67, hard work but don't be soft, can't have a break, your not a softcock, battle on.
6th
66, not having a break, battle through it
7th
67, ohh feeling better, got over lactic in the legs feeling OK now may be able to hold it
8th
66, bloody soccer players, just standing there having a chat in lane one, I yell, 'bana et, track' obviously don't care, cause they don't budge
9th
66, ah, fucked starting to max out, 3 to go
10th
67, another oblivious Swedish teenager got his bmx across lane one on the back straight. Yell 'Get off the track' but doesn't work, need to learn some swedish abuse instead.
11th
67, ah nearly there, starting to struggle
12th
67, done, smashed, but got through it consistently so reasonable satisfied.

Hand CC to Fel to go shopping on her way home for dinner, then I'm off for my warm down.

Running (Warm down) 27:39 [3] 5.18 km (5:20 / km) +50m 5:06 / km

So stuffed from the session that I walk slowly past the soccer match to the Eluspår before I start my warm down. Barely into a jog, just moving quick enough so the mossies aren't able to find me. Straigh away these two girls pass me....usually I hate being passed on these tracks....sign of weakness...but right now it doesn't bother me. Hang of the back of these girls for a while, pity the view ain't much. Decide to do the warm up in reverse, that is how exciting I am jogging through the gold course greenkeepers gives me the stare for about 20 seconds as I run past, I stare back....what's his problem.....he stares back....no look.....there is a track here....what's up mate....no idea. Pass a few more runners, still moving at snails pace...don't really care, suns out, sessions done. Always interesting passing runners here, if you get a nod, a smile, or even a look, that is pretty good. These next two though both were looking at my shoes, straight down, no eye contact....that would be too scary. Must have been checking out my yellow Zoom elites (which are still my favourite Nike shoe). Back around the eluspår now and plenty of runners out, which is great to see and many more than the Canberra bush trails. See the girls that passed me at the start of the warm down, face on this time, view no better. Battle back up the stairs to the station and up to our apartment. Yes Mexican for dinner and Euro 2012 on TV awesome.
