Orienteering race (BigFoot Sprints #1) 11:08 [5] *** 2.33 km (4:47 / km) +29m 4:30 / km
spiked:12/14c shoes: Asics Kayano 19 (2)

Race 1 at St.Ive's Showground. Felt a bit sluggish at the start and a little hesitant going down to no.4. Lost 15 secs exiting in the wrong direction to no.6 then got caught by Swede Raffael Huber at no.7. He got away pretty quick but noticed he punched the wrong no.12 in the distance. I also lost 15 secs there. Finished 30 secs behind the other Swede Christian Tingström, 6 secs behind Josh B and 5 secs ahead of Macey.

Orienteering race (BigFoot Sprints #2) 11:45 [5] *** 2.62 km (4:29 / km) +41m 4:10 / km
spiked:12/16c shoes: Asics Kayano 19 (2)

Started 6 secs behind Josh and 5 secs ahead of Macey. The 1st control was pretty quick as expected, Macey passed me before the 1st. I just tried to stick on to the others through the first 4 more technical controls. Once we got out into the open felt more comfortable. Looks like we made the wrong route choice to no.7 looking at the splits. Tried to put a spurt on to no.10 as I didn't think I'd be able to match the others in a sprint, but Macey passed me going to no.11 and all of us pretty much stayed in that order a couple seconds apart till the finish. The position of the last control in the bush didn't really allow for a sprint finish. Great fun!

Orienteering race (Sydney Summer Series #13) 44:50 [5] *** 9.25 km (4:51 / km) +150m 4:29 / km
spiked:29/30c shoes: Asics Kayano 19 (2)

Started with a loop around Cremorne Point 5-18-4-20 then straight back into the streets for 8-28-19-3 and back around the point through 23-1-23, stuffed around at 13 looking in the bush too early (45 secs) then realised it was just on a side track. Continued on through 16-1-27-15-25-30-6-7-17-24-11-26-12-29 then was undecided about grabbing 10 up the hill and finishing in time. Ended up going for it, then bush bashing down to 21 and 9 to finish. Got all with 10 secs to spare so 600 points. Bunched field today with Richard-590, Steve/Macey/Glenn/James-580.
