Bike 1:10:00 [4]

Bike start at rockstAR. Though we started near the middle(?), I think we passed the vast majority of teams on the road before hitting the trail, where one team pulled ahead and we stuck with the chase pack while I caught my breath. I think when we finally did start to put the hammer down and broke off the pack on the trail we must have really pulled away, cause our road pace for the last half was embarrassing. My legs had nothing to give, and we were lucky if I could hit 25kph on flat Tarmac.

Paddle 40:00 [2]

This was mainly recovery time for me. I was having some gastro issues and struggling big time on my feet so tried to take advantage of the chance at some recovery while in the boat. We still seemed to be moving damn fast considering the boat we were in though.

Trekking 6:00:00 [3]

I'm not gonna say all that much about the trek other than to say I dropped the ball big time. I struggled huge and couldn't keep the pace for the first few hours. I've never had so much trouble so early in a race before.

I really did start to feel better with about 2 hours to go, but It seemed from then on it was mostly trekking with little trail, so it really didn't make a huge difference until the last 2km.

Hard for me to rank the intensity on this one. A lot of the time the legs/stomach felt it was a 4-5, but the lungs felt great. I think my dad chose a 3 so I'll just follow suit.

Note

If I remember, next time I get my hands on a computer I will connect the watch and update my log with a little more accurate times and distances for each discipline
