Orienteering race 1:21:00 [3]

Day 2 - started not feeling very good, bottom of right foot was sore from wearing Solomon shoes all afternoon yesterday. Started race clean and first 2 controls went well. Error heading to number 3 but did not go too far in wrong direction. Felt much better until I got to 6 and attacked a bit too early and ended up at wrong rock cluster. All went well until I crossed the road, feet were very cold, sore and I lacked umph. Got messed up going to 13 trying to fight through the thorns. Finally felt like my nav was on going to 15 but out of steam. A nice clean (but slow) finish to the race. Finished the weekend 2nd in category and 4th female on course (over 35). A great weekend and lots of fun with the ARX gang.

Running race 1:14:04 [3]

First day of Fox Chaser. Started off slow, in the past I always seem to get flustered with a new map so thought I would take it at an easy pass to prevent mistakes. Made it to the first control with no problem, slowly increased speed and confidence as I went through the race. Tried to stick to the trails as much as possible to avoid the icky stuff. A few route choices that were not optimal and overshot a few controls due to lack of confidence. But otherwise a great race! Was not looking forward to the snow but it was nice and grippy and sun was shining!

Running 20:00 [3]

Twenty minutes on the treadmill after a long day of travels down to Philadelphia. Who would have thought it would have brought some of the worst driving conditions of the winter. All safe and sound and looking forward to racing tomorrow but could do without the snow.

Orienteering 45:00 [3]

Just wasn't meant to be a clean race, car would not go over 20 km/hr on way there so had to turn home and grab a ride with Kris (hero) and then a shoelace malfunction at the start (ugly). All this lead to a big error leaving the first checkpoint. Managed to figure it out and get back on track, was pretty clean from there on. Good eats to finish the night.

cross-training (Skiing) 2:00:00 [3]

Last day of skiing for the year, headed to Holiday Valley with all the boys, as weather improved throughout the day snow got heavier and heavier! Quads were really burning by the end of the day! (5 hours on the hill, amazing how many runs we got in during the first 2 hours!).
