Orienteering race (NavDash Guildford) 18:30 [4] ** 3.7 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Helly Hansen Trailcutters

Took this one quite easy, just to make sure I didnt do anything silly to my legs for next week. My L calf stiff pulled up a teeny bit sore however.
Went out after Boltboi and in front of Rachel and Ben. My slow pace meant I didnt catch Boltoi until 14, after we both went right around the building and had to keep going past the impasable we both didnt see on the map. Only other issue was having to retry 14 to 15 after trying to decend an less-than-mapped mountainside to the left of the OOB area and also seeing what looked like than a more-than-mapped swamp further on. Boltboi and Ben passed me here and tailed each other thru to the finish.
Bought a new Salomon pack for the run next week - had to break my general rule of 'never pay retail' for stuff like this - I reckon the markup on materials and labour for the thing would be easily 1000%.

run 55:00 [3] 10.0 km (5:30 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia 5

Run home with a full backpack to get a bit used to it for next weekend. I weighed it when I got home and it was probably close to right, maybe a bit under. The run itself was also just practicing the quick minimalist shuffle for next week

Run from work to City Beach to meet Dad and the family for a fush 'n' chups dinner before dad goes home tonight. Lovely evening, kept a good pace but felt nice and easy, concentrated on running form to find the easiest style.
Thought alot about TNF 100.
