This was a weird course. Not because of the course itself, or the map. They were great. Also navigation wise, I did great, too. I just felt very absent during the whole course. Maybe because I didn't eat breakfast or something - probably not the best idea. Despite that, I'm happy about my results. I only wish I got under an hour, but honestly? I'm still happy about it. With the very very little running I've been doing recently, I did better than I expected.
I was finally noticing improvement and results from the training we did in Pennsylvania. I immediately saw good route choices and I followed them almost perfectly. I chose good times to take bearings versus following terrain features. The navigation felt easy to me, but not a boring easy, a pleasant easy, that I didn't feel stressed and I knew what I was doinig the whole time.
The only issue I had wa that I felt like crap, but I kind of ignored that by focusing just on navigation. I think if my body wasn't kind of partially shutting down I could've easily made it under an hour. I was able to run almost the whole way until the 4th control, but then I had to walk more and more often.
But I still had fun. This was a nice course, and I like this map (although it could do with more rocks)
after finishing I went on a walk while I was waiting on my mom. I was exhausted, but I felt somewhat resltess and super out of it.
good thing I ended up going to bed early, I ended up falling asleep around 8pm.
