Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]
shoes: INOV8 X-Talon 190

11 AM

Orienteering race (Swiss 5 days - Day 5) 1:49:58 [5] 18.28 km (6:01 / km) +383m 5:27 / km
shoes: INOV8 X-Talon 190

Run on the same map as the WOC Long distance final. Such a boring map I recon and not one that I'm suited too. Just need to pick the best track option and run. It can get a bit tricky with the shallow gullys and i couldn't find the first even though looking at the map it was a green course control, gully ditch just off a track bend.
Ended up running 5km over the distance advertised.
Finished in 47th

Orienteering race (Swiss 5 days - Day 4) 2:37:02 [5] 15.0 km (10:28 / km) +844m 8:10 / km
shoes: INOV8 X-Talon 190

Toughest course I have ever raced!
Event centre was up at 1800m at an alpine ski area but there was still plenty of forest used.
Advertised distance/ climb was 11.4km / 625m but I'm waiting to download my GPS cause my climb would have been way over this.
I was the second starter. For the first part of the course the undergrowth grass/flowers were over my head. You could push through it ok but was slow and you couldn't see the logs and rocks, I picked up a couple of tracks but made a lot myself. I lost time on a number of shorter legs, was getting dizzy by about the 9th, and was glad to find bananas at the drinks.
Martin Hubmann was first in 1:53:46
I was 37th today.

Orienteering race (Swiss 5 days - Day 3) 45:43 [5] 5.83 km (7:50 / km) +134m 7:02 / km
shoes: INOV8 X-Talon 190

Middle distance today in a great area, tricky in areas, thick areas, fast areas.
Lost time at number 4 as I was reading leg 2, realised and over ran the control. Lost concentration late in the course in a tricky area and lost some more time. But ass was good today after having some nurofen.
45th today out of 116, 55th overall now.

Tough terrain and course today.

Orienteering race (Swiss 5 days - Day 1) 23:53 [5] 5.0 km (4:47 / km) +10m 4:44 / km
shoes: INOV8 F-Lite 230

Felt like how dave meyer looks when he runs...
Pretty clean run, just a small amount of time lost trying to get out of this one control. Ass was a little sore afterward.

Cycling (Tour de France - Stage 12) 2:21:01 [4] 38.35 km (3:41 / km) +969m 3:16 / km

Woke up a little late but today the tour would pass closer to chambéry as it climbs over Col du Granier. I rode up to the col a different route to the other day cause I heard it was easier and I didn't want to find out again that the road was already shut.
The climb this time was a lot nicer, still not easy, but a little over 14km.
There were heaps of people at the top, great atmosphere. I walked down about a k. The riders were pretty spread out today and it was good to watch them struggle, however I didn't see anyone lay down on the side of tHe rd for a few minutes....
A quickstep van was parked down the rd a little further and the guys were helping any of the strugglers, also watched an AG2R car pass a bottle (and give a massive tow) to a BMC rider.
