Group run out and back, Pimmit Run trail from TD's house near Falls Church metro. On the way back I ran ahead but missed a turn so led the group a bit off track. This was the best part of the run - as a group we have to figure out how to get back before it gets dark.

running 40:00 [3] 4.5 mi (8:53 / mi)

Team run, around Lake Accotink.
Interesting that I can still use shoes with >1000 miles, still comfortable, but parts of the interior ankle liner are falling apart

orienteering race 1:11:00 [3] *** 8.0 mi (8:52 / mi)
shoes: Salomon XA Pro '11

Jug Bay Beer Chase. I stopped after 2 loops of advanced. I was already really tired and hot and lost time looking for the correct GO control among 6+ fake/dummy controls, even though I was not on the Black course. It was a dumb mistake as I was not in the right area. After finding the right control, I decided to just jog in and skip the last short intermediate-difficulty-level loop. Maybe it was the humidity or not recovered from the 100 miles, but running hard is difficult right now. The fast pace I would like to run is maybe not sustainable since I have only run long and slow for the last 2 months.

Saturday Jun 1, 2013 #

4 PM

walking 45:00 [2] ** 3.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

Walking around neighborhoods near Lake Fairfax, then Lake Fairfax trails, exploring the new trails on the NoVa Epic course. Bike is in shop, did not have running clothes. Went to the finish at the Hunt Lodge, but didn't see any bikes or bikers, only family and kids. I couldn't tell if everyone already finished and left or had not arrived yet. Walked back out on the course, still saw no Epic riders, went home.
