Oz relays

First leg. Physically beyond me but luckily none I the other first leg runners were running that quick. Towards the end tho I was a bit stretched, and combined with the longer splits just fell off the back. A little sloppy perhaps at the end and finished in 3rd, a minute back.

Pretty happy with the weekend. Still need to see how the glut and hammy are going to hold up.

Oz long champs.

Was feeling reasonably confident of getting through the race fine which was a suprise given the prep.
Started a little wobbly but reading the map ok, then went for a swim in an unmapped marsh with Ewelsy. Felt strong, though not fast, up the hills and before I knew it I was a third of the way round with fairly minimal time loss. Took the long leg a little conservatively and I think lost a couple of minutes as a result. Nailed the next few then had a mental break and lost 4-4.5 min on number 18 which was frustrating. Lost confidence and was slow on the next leg then Tim and Bryan came through. Thought I'd see if I could sit with them and turns out I could without too much trouble. Sat behind (as didn't have the speed) mainly but hit a few controls before them. They deopped me going to the 2nd last cos I wouldn't jump this massive ravine thing, then as I was running out of it they were running into it. So beat them into the end.

Few costly mistakes and certainly not super speed but overall pretty happy with the run. Finished 8th, 6th Aussie.

Fun map and course in Bicheno, shame about all the wind and rain which also made the coastal rocks a little treacherous.

Pretty happy with the run apart from ballsing up the. 2nd control about 45s. Only a few seconds mistakes apart from that. Feeling better and better with each week of running too. At least I'm somewhat competitive now.
