Biking 35:00 [1]

At the gym at home.

PT 20:00 [1]

Calf raises, some resistance band work, planks and side planks, and a cautious attempt at the leg press.
2 PM

Hiking 1:21:56 [0] 6.67 km (12:17 / km) +104m 11:23 / km

Afternoon hike in Rock Creek Park with the family. Yay family! Alli carried Inara; Barney carried me.

PT 25:00 [1]

11 AM

Orienteering 1:22:52 [0] 8.11 km (10:13 / km) +80m 9:44 / km

I walked the Score-O course at QOC's College Park sprint event. I carried Inara in the backpack and had Barney pulling in front. We got all the controls (though three had, unfortunately, been stolen) and finished within the allotted time! Fun to see everyone and hang out at a QOC local event again. I talked to Joel Ford, a speedy adventure racer, who showed some interest in showing up to National Events when it doesn't conflict with AR. Maybe we can get a convert...

Family hike in Rock Creek! I will now start logging hiking with intensity 0, just to keep track of it, thanks to my smart wife's advice.

Biking 20:00 [1]

Part of the rehab plan is doing some biking instead of elliptical, to change things up.

PT 30:00 [1]

New strength routine. Added straight leg raises and hip abduction/adduction exercises, as well as side planks: lots of stuff done with straight legs to avoid the painful bending motion.

Note

Check out Martin Regborn's fabulous story of running a 30km straight-line orienteering corridor on Kilsbergen, one of Sweden's most famous maps: https://martinregborn.com/2017/11/20/sagan-om-lang...

(The printed map was 2.2 meters long and composed of 8 pages...)

PT 1:00:00 [1]

I went to see Robert, my PT, today about my knee pain.
He said that most of my balance and strength tests were good, and that the knee is an overuse injury (something that fits under the general umbrella of 'runner's knee'.) No running for a few weeks, but he thinks that I can come back strong before too long. So, back to rehab mode and no Thanksgiving Harriman camp for me.
