Spin class 50:00 [3]

Fast cadence. And like on Thursday, some fast cadence at higher resistance while "hovering" over the saddle. Ough.

Jogging (Streets/rail trail) 50:00 [3] 4.55 mi (10:59 / mi)
shoes: Hoka

Annual 6 shooter run. 6 shots....well, maybe 7. And a warmup before that. Which is 7x more my usual fortnight alcohol consumption. In a big hour. But it is still a great evening, catching up with some peeps and meeting new ones.
Good night.

Gym time (Boot camp) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka

Totally got a soaker and muddy legs jogging over to class. It was chest day. At the end I could not even do one push up. I had trouble getting my hands up to my keyboard in the afternoon.
I will be signing up for the next session.

Spin class 50:00 [3]

Cadence. And one leg work which I appreciated.....a new challenge.

Biking (Snow) 1:22:00 [3] 11.1 mi (8.1 mph)

That was harder than I expected. When we camped at Kettle Lakes Provincial Park in late August, I told myself I'd be back to ride the trails and park roads in the fall. It's still fall....right? Really no snow to speak of in Timmins, but here, 40 km to the east, there is a solid 1-2" of frozen/crunchy snow on the roads and double track routes in the park. Milton told me where to find the bike tool, so at least the seat was lower on his bike. My hands were freezing for the first klick or so, but I knew they would warm up. I couldn't ride the double track too well as there was too much snow over the leaves. But it was passable on the park roads, although it was like riding in wet sand. His bike tires aren't very wide, but he has lots of low gears for grinding away. The sun was shining, there was no wind.....it was a wonderful day in the park. Oddly, the single track was quite bare of snow. The park is technically closed in the winter, but I saw a couple sets of tracks of people going for long walks. And one couple (also with an Outback!) walking their dogs when I was almost done.

I have skied in worse snow conditions. Really!

Jogging (Trail) 13:20 [3] 1.0 mi (13:20 / mi)
shoes: Other

I wanted to hike around one of the kettle lakes before I headed back to town, so did it at a jog. Walked the park road to and from the trail to warm up/cool down. Beautiful forest, lake, ice, snow.....

The wintergreen was quite fragrant.

Note

After lunch, Milton and I hiked up Mt Kamiskotia....then back down one side as Milton showed me the mountain bike trail he did some work on this fall.....then back up again, and back down to the parking lot. Beautiful day....sunny with puffy clouds. I could've stayed up at the top for a lot longer, looking out over the boreal forest. BTW, the mountain bike trail is a little too scary for me....more of a DH course with some big drops!

I hope I can make it up to Timmins one more time before the end of the year. The locals tell me I might get some skiing in before Christmas!!!!!!
