Crossfit 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Cascadia 10 v2

Lunch workout session with a couple of the guys.

Today's special featured a 'pyramid circuit' of the following:

kb roman chairs
plank
bicep curls (how long as it been on those?!?)
box jumps
DB squats

along with a bunch of supplementary core work

Great workout, fun to do it with the work guys too. I'll definitely be back - much more interesting than working out by myself like I usually do

Biking 1:25:33 [3] 15.57 km (5:30 / km) +294m 5:01 / km
shoes: Garneau MTB LS-100

RB bought a cottage and it turns out it's about 2km from the entrance to Haliburton Forest, which also...as it turns out... has (and I quote) over 300km of hiking and biking trails.

So after a long night of training prep, which involved a LOT of beer, hot tubbing with the girls, and a campfire, we set out for a morning ride.

I had my traditional pre-workout meal of ... ... coffee.

The rain started right as we left.

Started out on a black trail...here's the description.

Normac Trail
Length: 3.0 km Rating: Difficult

This trail is probably our most technical trail, winding through the pristine scenery and mature stands of hemlock. It contains many rock outcrops, roots and short, but steep hills to negotiate. The trail is well defined and generally hard packed. There are only a few, yet short lived, wet spots. Enjoy the spectacular view across MacDonald Lake!

It was tough.

We didn't have a ton of time so after Normac we came back along the blue trail, "Dog's Ear" I think, which was quicker and flowy but still had lots of water.

All the trails were pretty wet and made the uphill rock sections pretty hard to navigate but no one got hurt and we had a blast.

If I were to go back the one thing I would definitely bring is a bear bell...seemed like prime bear territory to me.

I would kill to have trails like that near my house (or cottage). Hopefully we score the invite back to their place soon!
