washed and prepped the van for Georgia, cleared most of the remaining ice and packed snow off the driveway. Had really hoped to get a run in today, but too many last minute issues kept getting in the way.

trail running 10:00 [3]

Short 4-5 minute warmup jog leading the kids, then several minutes keeping an eye on things as they did a 17 control memory / score O.

12 students: 3 high school and 9 middle school.

Afterwards we went to Pizza King for dinner and a Georgia Navigator Cup pre-trip meeting, where Dylpop and several parents joined us.

The memory score-O worked like this. There were master maps at the start and finish. The start was in the middle of the area and finish at one corner. Older and more experienced students were not allowed to take a map, but could return to the masters as often as they liked. Middle students were allowed to take a map for an area of 7 difficult controls but could not take a map while getting the 10 closer and easier ones. Beginners were allowed to keep a map the whole time.

Flagging sites at MSRA for Union County practice tomorow. About an inch of crusty snow. Winter finally arrived, with temperatures dropping overnight from around 10C to -8C, with heavy rain, changing to light snow. Very windy, making it feel more like -15C. It will be a chilly practice tomorrow.
