Event: OCIN Joyce Park

walking 52:00 [2] * 4.0 km (13:00 / km)

mix of walking and jogging/running in terrain. (shadowing on yellow course). Joyce Park. About 10-15 cm of snow cover.

A couple nice route choice legs, but most fo the longer ones were cross country runs through fields of snow. Legs felt tight and tired, so overall pace was just plain slow. Shorter legs would have been more interesting (middle distance technical in intricate bottom-land), but elephant tracks led to most of them and I only really hesitated a couple times. Measured course length really should have been about 750 m longer and the deep stream of effluent from the sewage plant marked as uncrossable. I don't know if anyone went through, but I wasn't about to risk sinking in the mire on such a chilly day.
