Teamed up with Bill and went first. Managed to get about 2 feet without making a mistake and it was a big one that cost several minutes. Resisted the temptation to follow the pack East as following others is usually not a good strategy. Usually. I was looking for the start control which I eventually realized was superseded by the mass start. Once I had this figured out I was fine. Even managed not to come last.

A little too far on the trail East to 1 which was the only non spike. Realized the scale of the map was smaller than usual so back tracked a little to get contact again. Probably lost 30 seconds here. Ran through the rest without incident. The only criticism I have for myself is to slow the pace a little. I find myself running too fast up hill and running out of oxygen very quickly.

A little confused getting to 1 so no spike. Pretty well in contact for the rest of the run and no mistakes so a good result. Best performance of the year so far.

Lavinia and the boys decided to do a circle down to the lake to look for frogs and enjoyed it enormously.

Felt a little too energetic after getting back home so decided to do something about it. 10k run did the trick and a wonderful night to be out.

Feeling nervous running on the darker roads with cars. Need to get a reflective something to wear. I watched a documentary about the 2013 Kona Ironman and it highlighted 2 athletes that were returning after loosing a limb after being hit by a car while training. They didn't say if they were riding or running but still gives one pause.
