Note
(injured)

Surgery to remove a giant cell tumour from my right thumb. The tumour was discovered serendipitously when I had x-rays after a fall during mapping of Amaze'n Margaret River and damaged the knuckle of the middle finger. Turned out all the bones in that part of the hand were fine, but the photo revealed scalloping of the thumb bone, and a subsequent MRI showed a large (in relation to the size of the thumb) tumour squeezed between the tendon and bone.

For various reasons (mainly orienteering trips and trying to get my knee right) I delayed the surgery for 12 months, by which time a new MRI showed the bone was now very thin. My specialist has a good reputation as a skilled hand surgeon, but poor communication skills, but at least he was able to expedite the activity.

Road cycling 2:12:00 [3] 48.7 km (2:43 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Around the river, light winds for a change. SCR most of the way, moderate following wind along Marine Parade so changed up, but not for long. Breakfast at The Other Side, detour to East Perth to pick the car up from smash repairs (ask PP about that!).

Road cycling 1:40:00 [3] 36.0 km (2:47 / km)
shoes: Bike: Beemer Auto

Bassendean ride in SCR, but with detours due to the path closure East of Claisebrook station blocking both the outgoing and return on the usual route. Also a short detour to Bassendean council office to drop the key they gave me for the event into their after-hours box. Tried to return it on my way home last night, but the street was closed for a market and I couldn't find a park within 1km. Still haven't worked out what the key was for, as the toilets were open and there's no gate into the parking area.

This is the mob with the concert next door.
