Attempt at the Bridges/Heirisson run, didn't turn out quite as expected. When I got to the Burswood side of the Farmer Freeway/Rail bridge, the path was flooded due to an exceptional high tide that I hadn't been aware of. It looked at least shin deep, and I didn't fancy doing the remaining 9km with wet shoes and socks so I turned around.
Went down to the Causeway on the Trinity side instead, past hundreds of cars there for the Big Bash (no doubt the
cricket tragics including GB, Richard, Juffy & Tooms were all there). Between the river and Trinity was flooded as well, had to long-jump 1.5m across the creek that is usually dry. Then did a complete lap of Heirisson, half expecting water on the tracks there as well, but there wasn't any. Probably lucky the Island wasn't closed though, as they have started preparing for the AD fireworks - building a big pontoon. Saw the roos (or 4 of them anyway), went back the same way via Trinity, long jump not so good as was tiring by this time and only cleared the water by about 1cm.
