Road cycling 2:00:00 [3] 28.0 km (4:17 / km)
shoes: Bike: GT Avalanche

Road/path ride on the mountain bike with our visitors - along the river through Maylands to the Bayswater bird sanctuary and back. Leisurely, but recorded it due to the heat.

Wednesday Jan 25, 2012 #

Road cycling 1:27:00 [3] 37.2 km (2:20 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Bassendean ride.

Saturday Jan 21, 2012 #

Road cycling 1:28:42 [3] 35.38 km (2:30 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Out to Bayswater, back via E Perth, then to Mt Hawthorn to get bread from New Norcia, our normal baker at Hyde Park being closed for holidays.

Orienteering race 31:00 [4] 5.64 km (5:30 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2160

Metro Series race at Joondalup. With a big crowd, but decided to go it alone after my 2nd control - big mistake! Forgot to start the Garmin, so distance unknown until I can calculate it from Routegadget.

5.64km according to RG.

Running 38:24 [3] 7.0 km (5:29 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2160

East Perth to Heirisson - gates were locked because of the explosive extravaganza next week, so backtracked and went around the Eastern half of the island.

'Only' 29C for a change!

Running 41:22 [4] 7.9 km (5:14 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2160

Kings Park lap, suspected it would be hard when Juffy tagged along. Still pretty warm (high 20s), probably in the 4.3-4.5 intensity range for me, although Juffy looked fairly relaxed.

Sunday Jan 15, 2012 #

Road cycling 1:55:00 [3] 47.1 km (2:26 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Around the river with Binnsey.

Thursday Jan 12, 2012 #

Running 38:50 [3] 7.0 km (5:33 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2160

Even hotter, around 35C at 5pm. Jogged around Heirisson from East Perth.

Tuesday Jan 10, 2012 #

Running 42:25 [3] 7.9 km (5:22 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2160

Kings Park lap, hot again (32C, still 31C at 7pm).

Saturday Jan 7, 2012 #

Road cycling 1:20:00 [3] 32.6 km (2:27 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Bassendean ride.

Orienteering race 28:10 [4] 5.14 km (5:29 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2160

Metro Series race at Star Swamp. Reasonable route, could have cut it by 400m or so, especially by choosing a better first control (5 instead of 13, which I ran within 100m of on my way to the finish from 22. At my second control - 10 - joined a train coming from 5 and ran behind Ron M and just ahead of Mr R through 18, 12, 15 and 7. Ron inexplicably turned back towards 18 after 15, seems like he made a hash of his route after that. Mr R slipped past me taking a better route from 7, but then turned down towards 23 so I pushed on to 20, realising I could leave out 16. Sure enough, crossed paths with Mr R between 20-23, so knew he would be going to 16. All I had left to do after that was wrap up all the controls in the SW corner except 19 which was a bad one anyway. Got beaten by Nick Dale, Mrs Shot Rat (good run!) and Scott Z, but happy to finish ahead of Lee, Ron and other Vet rivals.

Thursday Jan 5, 2012 #

Running 21:45 [3] 4.0 km (5:26 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2160

Lap of Lake Monger - running late and not time for a 2nd lap.

Tuesday Jan 3, 2012 #

Running 42:53 [4] 7.9 km (5:26 / km)
shoes: Asics GT2160

Kings Park lap, 31C with hot SE wind - bit of a struggle.

Monday Jan 2, 2012 #

Road cycling 2:08:54 [3] 51.78 km (2:29 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Coast-Nedlands ride, but made it longer by adding an inland loop to climb Reabold, then going through Swanbourne and down the coast to Leighton, coming back up the rail line before hitting the Christ Church-Nedlands loop. Finished off by coming all the way up Barrack and Beaufort St for brekkie at the new Cafe Planet. Eggs and coffee good, but we got there at the wrong time and service was a bit slow.

Sunday Jan 1, 2012 #

Road cycling 2:01:00 [3] 47.3 km (2:33 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Towed Binnsey down to Freo, then across to Canning Bridge, all against a SSE-er, finally had some respite on the home leg up the Freeway path.
