Road cycling 1:33:13 [3] 40.69 km (2:17 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

LOST weekend group ride from Dunsborough - East on back roads almost to Carbunup, then West back to Commonage Rd - nice downhill.

Thursday Oct 29, 2009 #

Running 39:27 [3] 7.37 km (5:21 / km)
shoes: ASICS GT2130 (new)

Bridges run from East Perth.

Tuesday Oct 27, 2009 #

Running 36:10 [3] 6.69 km (5:24 / km)
shoes: Asics GT 2140

Short run at Kings Park, still got some cold symptoms but managed ok. Felt reasonable afterwards.

Thursday Oct 22, 2009 #

Note
(sick)

Feeling a bit better, but decided not to try to run the cold out this time.

Tuesday Oct 20, 2009 #

Note
(sick)

Slightly better - was able to run a school session at Star Swamp (MTB to put out/collect controls), and have nice 19th anniversary dinner at http://www.restaurantamuse.com.au/ (the restaurant, not the website).

Monday Oct 19, 2009 #

Note
(sick)

Cold symptoms have returned with a vengeance.

Sunday Oct 18, 2009 #

MTB cycling 2:00:00 [2] * 30.0 km (4:00 / km)
shoes: Bike: GT Avalanche

Map updating at Kings Park, not an ideal activity on Sunday mornings when half of Perth seems to visit the Park.

Note
(sick)

Still have the firking cold - when will it ever stop?

Saturday Oct 17, 2009 #

Running 48:53 [3] 9.0 km (5:26 / km)
shoes: ASICS GT2130 (new)

Mainly low impact in Kings Park, didn't take a map but was looking around for potential control sites for the Metro Series No. 2. Noticed a few probable map changes, especially at Saw Ave.

Thursday Oct 15, 2009 #

Running 38:55 [3] 7.0 km (5:34 / km)
shoes: Asics GT 2140

Bridges from East Perth. Still got fluey symptoms (although curry for dinner may have finally fixed it) and the run felt much longer.

Tuesday Oct 13, 2009 #

Running 32:50 [3] 5.5 km (5:58 / km)
shoes: Asics GT 2140

Short run at Kings Park in an effort to shrug the cold symptoms that are hanging around too long.

Monday Oct 12, 2009 #

Note
(sick)

Have used almost 2 large boxes of kleenex, but will definitely run tomorrow to drive it out.

Sunday Oct 11, 2009 #

Note
(sick)

Still fluey - hopefully better by Tuesday.

Thursday Oct 8, 2009 #

Note
(sick)

Getting worse.

Wednesday Oct 7, 2009 #

Note

Cold/flu like symptoms.

Tuesday Oct 6, 2009 #

Running 41:29 [3] 8.0 km (5:11 / km)
shoes: Asics GT 2140

Kings Park Tuesday 8k, taking it easy on my own.

Orienteering race 34:10 [5] ***** 3.7 km (9:14 / km)
spiked:12/14c shoes: Inov8 X Talon 212

Australian Relay Championships first leg at Warby Ranges, 3rd 1:17 down. Pleased with this, the 2 guys ahead of me are top M55s, and my team also finished 3rd, beating several more fancied teams. Didn't follow a pack at the start, but tried to go hard while mapreading carefully and spiked it. At 2 and 3 the splits came together, didn't recognise anyone at 2, and then went high to 3 (a short leg). Lost maybe 45secs and could then see the pack escaping up a slope. Made up enough time to keep them in sight, and had passed a few guys by 8. We were all a bit high at 9, but I recovered first, then didn't see anyone except a young guy about 17 who was at all my controls (turns out he was running M21AS and had the same course).

Orienteering race 56:24 [4] ***** 4.9 km (11:31 / km)
spiked:7/11c shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw 330

Australian Long Championships at Warby Ranges, 12th/50, 8:50 down, GPS distance 6.38kms. Very disappointed, was concentrating hard and good run to no.4, then a small lapse when didn't see than short leg to 5 was 1 contour higher. Followed this by total loss of confidence and 5 minute error at 6, then two more silly mistakes at 7 and 9.

Friday Oct 2, 2009 #

Orienteering race 16:38 [5] ** 2.7 km (6:10 / km)
spiked:12/14c shoes: Inov8 X Talon 212

Australian Sprint Championships at Benalla, 7th/36, 1:09 down, actual GPS was 3.23kms. One small mistake at 4-5 when came out to a track x-road and took about 15 secs to work out which way to go, but a bad route choice error 9-10 cost 45 secs, and could easily have been 3rd.
