Running 42:19 [4] 7.9 km (5:21 / km)
shoes: Asics GT 2150

Kings Park lap, slow again - probably due to not much sleep last night and warm weather.

Sunday Nov 28, 2010 #

Road cycling 1:57:00 [3] 42.7 km (2:44 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Ride over to Scarborough via Herdy, down the coast, then through Mt Claremont and around Nedlands to La Gallette cafe in Broadway.

Orienteering race 42:09 [4] ** 7.04 km (5:59 / km) +120m 5:31 / km
spiked:20/20c shoes: Asics GT 2150

Metro Series event at Trigg. Much better route than last week, but also much warmer and hillier than last week. Walked quite a lot, and running slowly over the rest.

Running 49:28 [3] 8.8 km (5:37 / km)
shoes: Asics GT 2150

Bridges and South Heirisson - didn't see the roos, but I did see 4 Asian tourists exiting the park with a satisfied look. Very stiff south-westerly made for a struggle over the first half of the run.

Running 42:39 [3] 7.9 km (5:24 / km)
shoes: Asics GT 2150

Kings Park lap, struggling the whole way.

Orienteering race 46:02 [4] 8.6 km (5:21 / km)
shoes: Asics GT 2150

Metro Series race at Canning Vale - at the time I didn't think my route was all that bad, but it must have been - 13 mins down and 8-9 mins behind guys that beat me by less than a minute last week. Forgot to take the Garmin again - distance is calculated from Routegadget, which also shows Ameko did only 7.3km! How wrong can you be!

Thursday Nov 18, 2010 #

Running 41:23 [3] 7.4 km (5:36 / km)
shoes: Asics GT 2150

Bridges run from East Perth, very hot - around 33C - and didn't feel like going around Heirisson.

Running 42:09 [4] 7.9 km (5:20 / km)
shoes: Asics GT 2150

Tuesday KP lap, thought I would be much slower so not disappointed about missing a 41.

Orienteering race 41:40 [4] 7.8 km (5:21 / km)
shoes: Asics GT 2150

Long course at Leederville Metro Series, forgot to take the gps and a card string. Taking it easy in first run for a couple of weeks, didn't feel anything from the hip (only seems to hurt when I'm sitting). Decided before the start that everyone would head immediately for the bridge, so I would go around the East side first and save the lake lap until later. Only one other long runner (Bigpete) taking the same option, beat him to 1 as he was looking in the wrong place, but then he soon pulled away. Left out 14, 15, and 23. Not a lot in it, but probably should have gone from 1 to 5 and left out 2,3, & 4. Had a stitch 3 times, the worst after punching my last control (25) with about 700m to go to the finish. Down in the second half of the field, but 4 guys less than a minute ahead of me so hope to get them next time!

Sunday Nov 7, 2010 #

Road cycling 2:19:57 [3] 55.7 km (2:31 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Similar ride to yesterday, but did a loop across the other side of Bussell Highway. Touched JBs back wheel when the group slowed at a junction and ended up on the ground with a big graze on my hip. Disappointed to find Meal Up closed, so coffee afterwards was not quite as good.

Friday Nov 5, 2010 #

Road cycling 1:42:06 [3] 42.89 km (2:23 / km)
shoes: Bike: Bianchi Coast to Coast

Ride from Dunsborough around the back blocks, finishing with a climb up Wildwood, then a descent of Commonage Rd, and excellent coffee (Fiori) at new cafe Meal Up (nice play on words) in the town.
