Running race 17:29 [5] 3.1 mi (5:38 / mi) +40m 5:25 / mi

Shipley Country parkrun - 1st, 17.28

Probably a better run than last week given how humid it was and the course, though similar, was a bit hillier
Was out in front from the start so had to tell myself to keep pushing, competition might have pushed me closer to the CR

Orienteering 1:07:00 [3] 9.1 mi (7:22 / mi) +10m 7:20 / mi

To Clifton Lakeside down the river, then the orienteering, then back to station
Orienteering straightforward enough, heat was the main problem, didn't push too hard, though naturally seemed to go faster with the map in hand!

10 x 400 (200) ave 70-71
Best session of the summer so far, certainly in terms of who I was up with, surprising as I had sort of written it off having ran hard Sat/Sun

Urban Orienteering race 43:50 [5] 6.1 mi (7:11 / mi) +130m 6:44 / mi

Tenby Urban - 2nd, 43.58

Wasn't expecting a small single sided map for the distance but the area suited it and the courses kept interest despite criss crossing the area which was good to see, and difficult to achieve a lot of the time.

Navigationally sound, except
#3 started NW out of 2, saw wall at end of alley and on map, and turned round not realising could turn R at end
#4 hadn't figured out the steps were up until got there and they weren't there, though to be fair figured it out quickly
#25 planned, and should have come W out of 24, but for some reason kept going
#31 big error in carrying on a sea level and not backtracking to the higher level
#36 onto the beach east of the control could have been quicker, think sand probably slows me down less than steps

Legs were OK, except the sand and steps really slowed me down and I didn't have the zip to get up to speed quickly again.

Great event. Caves at the end were excellent.
