Running warm up/down 25:00 [2] 3.2 mi (7:49 / mi)

9 AM

Running race 18:44 [5] 3.1 mi (6:03 / mi) +50m 5:45 / mi

Lancaster parkrun - 2nd, 18.44

With Barrow away, had aimed to do Fell Foot, and then Keswick, but the cancellation of both meant the inaugural Lancaster event rode to the rescue. Lovely park above the town, though a damp morning.
Tough course, two big hills per lap.
Was in 4th, and had got into 3rd after about a mile when followed 2 in front up a hill. Turned out this was wrong, though nice of the guys behind who went right to shout us back. Bit of a melee sparked me into life and was clear in 2nd by end of lap. Also spurred the guy who won into action and he was well away, as you'd expect from a 15.10 man, so it was a solo effort on the last lap which was slightly longer. Tried to enjoy the course whilst working fairly hard.

Running 29:00 [3] 4.0 mi (7:15 / mi)

Back to go outdoors for a refund - extended run there to make up to 4. Felt fairly fine.
7 PM

Running 39:26 [3] 5.5 mi (7:10 / mi) +70m 6:54 / mi

Guiseley and Tranmere Park road loop clockwise
Saw Niall had done this route on Strava and it was 6mi, which would fit the bill. Got 1/2 way round and wondered how it was going to end up 6, which it didn't, upon investigation he'd run round the back of the station.
Felt alright, didn't push, but didn't hang around either.

7 PM

Orienteering 44:50 [3] 3.2 mi (14:01 / mi) +90m 12:53 / mi

Esholt Woods Night O - 3rd 140pts
Aimed to clear first map and see what happened.
Not brilliant, but not a disaster, too hesistant on feet with poor vis to get any speed up. Stupidly ran past one control on first map, so only got 9/10. Horrible muddy run in, got 5 on second map, thought would need 3 mins to get back down repeat run in, had 2:40, managed it in 2:30, though really should have gone down road on both occasions.
2 more controls would have been good, and certainly achievable.

Running 22:42 [3] 3.0 mi (7:34 / mi) +70m 7:03 / mi

Run home via Old Hollins Hill
A bit tight everywhere

12 PM

Running 22:00 [3] 3.1 mi (7:06 / mi)

Trip to go outdoors to but a headtorch to replace the one I thought I'd lost on the way to work, finding my bag open with no headtorch when I got to the office.
Turned out it fell out before I got out of the front door (See Thurs)
6 PM

Running warm up/down 6:00 [2] 0.7 mi (8:34 / mi)

Urban Orienteering race 1:14:45 [5] 16.9 mi (4:25 / mi) +65m 4:22 / mi

MDOC Romiley & Woodley Street O - 1st

Struggled to get to a decent pace, but probably got there in the end.
After about 50 mins thought I'd clear the map, but wasn't aware of the massive hill to the final 60 travelling a/c round the map, which meant that had to miss the 3 on the far east out. Recovered enough to sweep up what remained, which looked unlikely at one point. Part of the area familiar from a previous event.
