8 AM

Running warm up/down 8:00 [3] 0.9 mi (8:53 / mi)

9 AM

Running 17:45 [5] 3.1 mi (5:44 / mi)

Crosby parkrun - 1st, 17.45

Strong headwind from the north first mile or so up to the coastguard station on flat grass, turned onto the concrete prom back to the start, wind behind, flying, until the sand started to build up in a couple of places, reduced me to a walk.
All your standard coastal parkrun to this point...
...but on reaching the start area, onto the beach and follow a line of the Gormley statues for 600m until the one with a hi-viz on, superb!
180 degree turn and belt it for home, into a gale, really tough, and the last 30m was unrunnable sand again, but great fun!

Running 29:50 [3] 3.6 mi (8:17 / mi)

Up to the orienteering, running north was hard, I was too early, got cold so had to keep moving
10 AM

Orienteering race 44:23 [2] 4.1 mi (10:50 / mi) +30m 10:35 / mi

Hightown Dunes, 12th, 44.23

Enjoyed this, havent really orienteered in sand dunes before, but did OK.
Except #2 which took me 10 mins to find.
Did a full loop of it twice ( I was first off as well), written control description said west side of thicket, clearly the sea side, which I passed twice, but control was tucked away east side. Planners pictoral control description said east side, so something has gone wrong somewhere. Also tried to relocate off finish which was parallel, but this had been set up too far north.

Just the fine navigation letting me down after that, got there or thereabouts and was slow from there.

Running 30:10 [3] 4.2 mi (7:11 / mi) +20m 7:05 / mi

Holgate Yard
Started very slow, ended fairly fast
7 PM

Running 1:18:00 [3] 10.2 mi (7:39 / mi) +70m 7:29 / mi

Tried to pique my interest in getting another 10 in by running down the canal from Brighouse to Mytholmroyd with headtorch.
Felt weak between 3 and 5, but battled on.
Pace picked up but path got muddier, after passing pub on bridge at 9 miles at what I thought was Mytholmroyd, decided to do the final mile as out and back, which in one sense was lucky as at bang on half a mile the towpath was flooded.
Headed back and got phone from bag to discover I was in Luddenden Foot with Mytholmroyd still just under 2 miles away.
Went for a pint and got a bus to Halifax.
Probably would have carried on to 12mi had I known.
Hebden Bridge looks a possible 15 from Brighouse then - but one for daylight.

8 AM

Running 31:40 [3] 4.0 mi (7:55 / mi) +20m 7:48 / mi

Urgh, morning run as had a meeting at work.
Got it done.
6 PM

Running 29:30 [3] 3.75 mi (7:52 / mi)

Extended run to the uni

Urban Orienteering 18:30 [3] 2.3 mi (8:03 / mi)

York Uni Sprint

Much like the last one here, just took it steady and enjoyed it.
Went slightly too long way round to #5 and distracted by others and got confused at #8
Good fun

Running 9:45 [3] 1.3 mi (7:30 / mi)

Inbetween
7 PM

Orienteering 22:10 [3] 2.6 mi (8:32 / mi) +20m 8:20 / mi

Walmgate Stray / York Uni

All fine, except the higher level #10 completely got me, was convinced it had been removed, not convinced by control description to be honest but there we are.

Running 8:00 [3] 1.2 mi (6:40 / mi)

A fast warm down as felt hadn't run hard enough

12 PM

Running 33:45 [3] 4.9 mi (6:53 / mi) +20m 6:48 / mi

Dringhouses Loop
One of those runs that felt effortless, cruising along.
6 PM

Running 1:17:30 [3] 10.0 mi (7:45 / mi) +80m 7:34 / mi

Intended to go to Ripon Street O, but late train arriving Harrogate scuppered that one.
Somehow mustered the enthusiasm for a run with my heavy bag round Harrogate, despite the wind and rain.
Some great roads to run on, to be fair. First half was slow but second half wasn't too bad.
Nice pint in the Harrogate Tap afterwards

Down the A65 to Horsforth rbt, then down to canal and along to Kirkstall, and up and down to watch leaders...
Horrendous conditions on leaving home, but eased off after half an hour.
10 AM

Running 29:00 [1] 3.0 mi (9:40 / mi)

...then a spot of pacing for Abbey Dash
